I think about physics a lot.
The affects of gravity on mass, inertia in space, the flow of causation, infinitesimal changes in duration effecting time travel, equalization, multi-scalar observational division of fundamental laws and forces, etc... I like to think about the strange natural examples of reality which occur that allows for other even more strange things to be possible somewhere. Like a lake at the bottom of an ocean. The Brine Pool is a crater-like depression on the seafloor filled with very concentrated brines coming from the Luann Salt Layer. The brine contains a high concentration of methane gas that supports a surrounding dense mussel bed. Its not the brine pool which fascinates me. What fascinates me is the fact that this can happen. Its a natural state. The fact this natural state can occur indicates other natural states just as weird might occur as well. The Universe is big, very big. Weird stuff like this happens on a 1:1 ratio (as far as we can prove). I find it fun to think about all the weird stuff that could be possible. |

We call them extremophiles, but we are just as weird.
We need to breathe a corrosive gas - oxygen, to live. We operate only with a solution of this corrosive gas and explosive gas hydrogen, mixed together. We have explosive and reactive elements in us - sodium, calcium, unobtanium. We produce urea, carbon dioxide, and many complex molecules. We travel about oxidising hydrocarbons and making heat and pollution trails. We walk blindly into dangers while staring at a hand held device. We treat our home as a chemical dump and sewer, and extinct other life forms as a matter of course. We get upset and bored when we are not 'entertained'. We believe in all powerful magical invisible beings. We sit around in evenings looking at moving images on an electrical device. We don't gather food personally to eat, but trade worthless IOU notes for foods which others have gathered as their niche occupation in the symbiotic 'society', while we do things irrelevant to food gathering, to make 'credit', to acquire more IOU notes, to exchange for foods and shelter and the necessities of 'life'. What a weird creature. |
