This. Pay special attention to what Jesus said and did. The Bible is still filled with plenty of accounts of imperfect humans and their choices. They are accounts to learn from. But Jesus is the way, pay attention to HIS actions and words.

The word "Christianity" is not in the bible. But if you want to learn then find yourself a knowledgeable teacher. You can't learn the Bible by yourself. Must have a Teacher. Then you must read together with your teacher and make sure you get the precepts and the proper understanding. Only then will you know if and what the bible has to offer you. Hopefully this helps!

Search "The Real Jesus Christ" on Youtube, if you're interested, read more books. Read actual theology and history done by actual professors, avoid conspiracy theory nonsense. The Bible was literally corrupted by white supremacist by the hands of Christ's traitor Paul, but Jesus himself had some great messages about forgiveness, understanding, suffering, overcoming ignorance, and eliminating poverty.

We must trust God rather then men, says the Holy Bible. What you need is the proper understanding. With wisdom and knowledge of the Bible, we get the UNDERSTANDING and not from vain babbling of men.

Today most people who call themselves Christians are really not. Nobody is more in favor of going off to war than today's Christians. Just listen to any Toby Keith song and you'll get the idea. But if you learn anything about jesus you will not find him calling on his apostles to grab a weapon and follow him. He was all about non-violence. If you want to be a true follower of Jesus watch what your local Christians do and then do the opposite.

I wouldn't say so. Most, if not all of the Christians I met are against wars and violence in General, and they set a good example of what a follower of Jesus should be. I actually believe that Christianity nowadays is one of the most peacefull religions out there (Of Course there were times when that wasn't the case).

Get a Bible and start with the New Testament. John is a great place to start. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are all accounts of the Gospel from different perspectives. Also, many letters and instructions to the church on how we are to live. By reading the Word for yourself, you will be able to discern when people claim the Bible says something when it doesn’t or if people use Scriptures out of context or twist them. Reading a verse in the New Testament in chronological order, a verse from Psalms, and a verse from Proverbs a day is a great start!

Also find a Bible teaching church for the Word says not to forsake the assembling together with other believers. This is where you will learn and grow and build relationships with other believers! Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God! Don’t just go to any church, try several and pray about where God wants you and where you feel at home...

Hahaha. This isn't the right way to establishing a covenant with Jesus Christ. Perhaps that scripture by the Lord isn't harsh as it appears.
Remember that what you love most, you give attention to more than any other thing else and the commandment by the Lord still remains "love God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength." And when you have done this, there won't be any thing to take the place of God in your heart and that doesn't mean you should hate your fellow human being because it is written; "love your neighbor as yourself." So we still need to love people.
Moreover, hating yourself is denying self or fleshly desire that would contend with the things of the Spirit of God because a canal man cannot please God according to the scriptures.
