ive experienced natural body shock, which i believe supresses nervous system, i.e. redirecting bloodflow, etc, ultimately sensory overload. only momentarily, then compartmentalize pain (mental/spiritual)... its been my experiences thru ortho tryamas... mental pain control tm, etc, techniques are undeniable, a valuable tool...

Some guy said his spine was so painful once that he had to force himself to crawl to the pills.

A broken ribcage, a broken ankle, several sciatica attacks, cartilage damage in one knee and a violent marriage. Woot

Of course... I found the best way to go through it was exactly that... Go through it! Feel it, embrace it... When you are able to embrace it the source of the pain becomes clear... That's when the healing process can begin.
It's the same with any kind of pain, including headaches. Aspirin masks the pain, but finding what is causing the headaches can help eliminate the need for aspirin. |

Have you experienced severe pain
Sure. Any pain... And how did you go through it
Hmmm...Let's see. With (off the top of my head, but in no specific order) help from: - pharmaceuticals. - doctors/surgeries. - the toilet and a magazine. - meditation. - broke up with them. - breathing exercises. - time and patience. - crying, pleading, groaning, and whining. - time and impatience. - waited until they turned 18 and moved out. - ice cream or alcohol. - sleep. - swearing and yelling. - nothing. |

Lol that DOES make sense |

I remember when my grandma was in her final stage of cancer morphine had to be applied to reduce her pain

I believe when it comes to the body, there are times when nothing one does will eliminate the pain and suffering one might endure. Though I do believe that accepting and embracing the pain could still help. Most times we fight the pain or are angry with it rather than accepting it, which could be the very thing that makes it worse and so unbearable. |

So true sis with the physical pain I remember one nurse in hospital said our body is equipped with the ability of self-healing at times. Once she said her shoulder was in so much pain that she couldn’t raise it. She ignored it and lives as she used to be later her shoulder recovered by itself |

Yes a kidney stone ,I thought my end had come, after a few hours I was taken to hospital and given strong pain killers ,after drinking 4/5 pints of water for a couple of weeks I passed it which was surprisingly pain free to to see the size of it

I had my left kidney swell to the size of a boxing glove, go septic and then perforate like a teabag. that hurt. Morphine did nothing for the pain. lost 5 days completely. Bit close for comfort that one. You get through it. You've no choice. Like River says. You accept that it's going to be there a while and don't focus on it. |

Unfortunately in life we all experience pain at some time or another. For physical pain there are many meds. Some use them some don't. And emotional pain well they have meds for that as well. And again some use them some don't. Either way when you stop the meds sometimes the pain is still there. As River said don't focus on it.

The cause have to be found, and eliminated as much as possible. |

Living with a mental problem... still making an effort to better myself encouraging others to achieve their dreams getting kicked around spit upon and still trying to make people laugh and smile... Every day of my life is pain... And regardless I still strive to make each and everyday worthwhile enjoyable and unique I can honestly say some of my worst days turned into my best simply because I found the will to smile at night :)...
