Yes, it would be. The history here is really cool, and the grounds are amazing.
The house is like a maze, I got lost a couple times, lol. I got to see the Mary Lincoln room, absolutely beautiful and about one and a half times bigger than mine. The kitchen is huge, just no stove for cooking. There's a microwave, refrigerator, and convection oven though. |

so how do you make the breakfast after the guests enjoy the beds?????

I'm not sure they do that anymore. They haven't even been making coffee. I imagine when it gets busy they do a continental breakfast. The front desk lady said they have little gatherings/events sometimes in the dining room. There's a bar so I guess it gets busier during full season. Maybe they're replacing the stove, I just didn't see one. They have two dryers but no washer.

sounds like a true vermont podunk site

Yes... and I need a car!!!
I did find out there's a bus that runs back and forth to Bennington, stops at Shaws, but not the laundromat. Relying on the shuttle here isn't a good idea. I waited an hour and a half the other day for them to pick me up. And the last couple days I couldn't get one because they were too busy. Doing laundry is going to be very expensive between the high cost of the washers and using a cab. |

quick as i can. unless rock delivers first

A big kiss for the first one that does!

oh and by the way...
I TOLD YOU SO shoulda brought the bike |
To town would be easy peasy... I'd be walking it back up the hill
And... that's not going to help me once it snows or for going to the laundromat. I'd need a three wheeler with a really big basket. |
and one of those fancy new electric motors to get you back up the hill

Well now there's a thought Or a moped.
Still wouldn't work for winter though. And I just found out that there aren't many cabs available either. I just love websites that make themselves out to be more than what they are Shaws doesn't deliver in this area. Their website said they did! |

Thank you!
I'm sure once I get to know more people in housing I'll be able to get there easier. They all have to go too. The house off property has one. I was told the opposite during the interview which is why I requested on property housing. Then she said different but that I could use the one off property. Then yesterday I was told not to count on it because it's being used by the entire house and would be little chance that it would be available. |

And the spa director is going to have me be an attendant more than a receptionist, so I will be doing very little of what I was hired for.

at least you have a great view

Yes, that I have. And the mountain behind the hotel is owned by the Equinox, tons of trails throughout it and to the top... and a big walk around pond in the middle. And so far, most of the crew is really nice.

good morning River I hope your day will be fantastic and go the way you’re hoping for ... I bet the fall foliage is really pretty up there now The trees here have not yet started to turn colors, but should be soon! |

Hi Dee
It was okay, everyone is nice. I'm a little disappointed I'm not doing the job I was hired for, but I'll give it a try and see how things go. The foliage is not quite at it's peak, probably another couple weeks. The mountains are starting to look pretty colorful. The grounds people are decorating the grounds with pumpkins and other fall stuff, looks incredible. |

Oh, that’s a shame about your job duties not being what you were hired to do! Maybe there’s a chance you’ll be able to do that later on... How long are you there for? I can’t keep up with all your travels |
