Topic: Voting... | |

I really don't know any more, I've heard in the pass how great your vote counts and what it means and now a days it seem's to mean less and less.
I mean as I've talked to a few people, they have told me your vote is pretty much worth less since they have who they want for the White House already set in stone before voting takes place. So any thoughts on rather or not your votes really do count for the President of the United States. ????? |

elections have been decided long before they happen, and if anyone wants to know about this stuff just ask i have lots of info

I think one's vote
still counts as long as someone doesn't squeak in by electoral vote or get elected by the Supreme Court because of some hanging chads. |
|

So why should any body vote if no one's vote counts ?????.
I wonder what would happen if no body did vote |

I say the only way you have a right to ***** is if you voted! if you dont vote, don't *****! peoples votes do make a difference!

Voting is a double edged sword. Yes its noticed that younger people (our generation) are not voting as much as people would like but the baby boomers and older citizens are. What decides the presidency is the electorial college. The state votes (electorial college) depend on the citizens. Thus, if more citizens vote for who they want, the states will tend to follow their voter's wishes and give their electorial college votes to that candidate....yet at the same time, states dont follow what their citizens want. So the question that still remains is: do you think your vote counts or not?

The vote counts if
they can assure a fair election and we don't have another Florida debacle. |

I say the only way you have a right to ***** is if you voted! if you dont vote, don't *****! peoples votes do make a difference! In other words what your saying is that if people do not vote then they do not have the right to say noting, and on the other hand if they do then they have a right to wine and carry on etc. Did I get that right ????. Last time I'd tired voting was for the Gover of Michigan and they didn't have enough of the papers for people to vote because they had a bigger turn out then years before from what I understood, and I didn't vote that time because it was going to take them another four or five hours to get them after standing in line for four hours that night. Oh well.. I have no big complaints other then this gover won't be back in office again. |

You don't vote...in my opinion you have no RIGHT to biatch or complain. It's a privilege and a right...and that right can be taken away.
Heard there was a study once that less than 4% knew the difference between a liberal and a conservative, so WTF are the other 96% WHO do vote basing their decisions on? So I say hell ya my vote counts..... |

IMO those few people are correct.i think voting is just to make people THINK the president is voted in but i don't believe the votes are even worth anything.i think it's a waste of time |

By making the decision
not to vote, you give control of the election to others who will vote for their candidate, who may not be the one you want in office. The main reason we ended up with George Bush Jr. (twice) as President is because Karl Rove mobilized the Republican base, especially the fundamentalists, and they went to the polls and voted. |

oops.
I'm dumb but I'm not that smart. I always get in trouble |

But what i'm really wondering about is how long have you been doing your 'homework' on this when you couldn't even vote. Sounds to me like someone else is telling you what to beleive...just my opinion |
