I know there has been threads about this in the past..but to be honest i never really paid much attention to them.
When is it the right time to plan a trip and meet someone that u talk to all the time from here? I know it depends when u are ready and all.. but im just curious as to what u all think... anyone have experience and/or advice on this, i would really appreciate it ![]() |

I don't know. I guess it depends. I've met some guys after a couple days, some after months and one after chatting for over a year. So I guess it depends on when you both agree it's right. Just make sure you really want to meet them and don't chicken out at the last minute. :)

I met a guy from here a few months ago. We had talked for about 3months. Seems like everytime we planned to meet, one of us had to work, timing just wasn't good. So, finally, after about 3 months we met. I drove 2hrs to meet him. Normally, I would never have drove that far to meet someone, but, he was special. We had a connection. It was a great time. We still talk and plan to meet again sometime. Guess, you just have to go with your gut feeling on things. It felt right for me doing this. But, that doesnt' mean it's right for someone else. You have to go with your gut and your heart. Do what you beleive is right.

Good advice from all. I have made a couple of trips to meet people. Before we met, we both came to the same conclusion it was time to meet. Every experience was very nice.

I think when you both feel comfortable. I met my gf on here Just about 7 months ago. I was living in CA and she was in Utah and now I'm living with her in Utah. We took a couple months getting to know one another before we met. I say if you spend any time with someone on the net and you want to get to know them and they can't wait to get to know you a little bit. Don't wast your time, but If your in it just for fun and just going out. Have fun but watch out for yourself.

I believe "time" in this case refers to emotional rather than temporal. The emotional connection depends on the level of communication the two people have had. How deep were the conversations? A conversation from the heart, a touching conversation that brings two people to tears, certainly has much deeper connection than a month of small talks. When you connect with someone at this level, you both will know (feel) the right time to meet in person. At that point you don't decide, but rather yearn to be with each other in embrace, as the next step of the relationship.

The Shadow knows...
Seriously Jamie, how far are we talking? Reasonable car trip? Plane? Train? When you are both ready, go for it. And please be safe about it. ![]() |
