So when it comes to music, what was your greatest disappointment? Could be a new album coming out, or your favourite band splitting up. Anything music related.

For me it was The Undertones splitting up and Feargal Sharkey going solo with rank like A good heart sick

My greatest disappointment is hearing of all the Classic Rock Bands members passing away slowly but surely shows how old I'm becoming~~ And the Music is dying out~~~

Getting to see Elvis one week before he died. He was my teen idol and When I actually got to a concert, he was fat and sick and that made me feel sick.

I have a special love of artists, each individual creates and contributes in their own way, so I dont much get attached to groups AS groups, but as groups of individuals.

Id say the disappointments are when we loose great talents to senseless drugs

like Michael Jackson, Prince, Whitney Houston ... et cetera.

September 25, 1980
Had tickets to the Led Zeppelin show in Pittsburgh, PA.
Had our acid, big bag of weed and a 5th of Vodka.
It was the big event we were all looking forward to.
Then we got the news and we were crushed and turned it into a John Bonham/Led Zeppelin party tribute.

The Chicago Stadium was only one planned location for Led Zeppelin concerts in North America that year, along with:

the Forum in Montreal, Quebec, Canada
the Capital Centre in Landover, Md.
the Spectrum in Philadelphia, Pa.
Richfield Coliseum near Cleveland, Ohio
Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich.
the War Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo, N.Y.
the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.
the Saint Paul Civic Center in St. Paul, Minnesota

100% on that, I've been feeling it for quite sometime and some on a personal level.

My greatest disappointment as per this thread was; I've been to Ireland three times and the last time Rory Gallagher was still alive but was playing in Greece IIRC but was due back in the UK soon but not soon enough...never got to see him.
BTW for those that don't know Rory was the guy that Jimi really did say was the best guitar player in the world.

Yeah. Good old Rory. The younger generation only know the likes of Westlife (pukes) ... but Rory is second to none glasses

Yes sir!

I didn't know what Westlife was so took a look on youtube didn't listen, didn't need to, didn't want to!
I can see they're just the latest version of the Backdoor Boys and I'm sure you're right about (pukes)!
It's sad that what passes for music these days....isn't, but when something like Dunstin Beeper can be a superstar it kinda says it all.

When a friend of mine's carpal tunnel got so bad he had to add another guitar player....(he had played lead for 30 years..)

I quite lisytening to him at that point...just wasn't the same... :-(

He will be 69 on the 24th...still plays over 150 dates a year...

As a contrast, you might check Irish band 'Blackbird&Crow'. I love these guys glasses

Mind me asking for the name of the artist? Is he on Youtube or Spotify? I am sure, you have a decent taste in music :sunglasses:
