Most of the fakes I see come out late at night.

That's because they are operating mainly out of the Southeast Asia, which is a 14 hour time difference, roughly.

There are some active during the day too. Those are often based in Europe, Latin America, or Africa.

For me, it's about a 2:1 ratio for night vs. day.

Well I'm looking at Men and many are definitely REAL here at late night!

I consider the fact there is no 'live' chat.
"Online Now" has little significance until the two of you establish some type of message interaction and even that only has significance if the responses (discussions) are in quick succession.

I also consider even tho it may show someone as "Online Now" they may be AFK (away from keyboard). At a movie fandom site, I had a member that showed as online 24/7 non-stop. They just left their computer on and had our site open in a protected tab.

If you're lucky enough to establish a messaging pattern with someone, you can observe the time stamp of their responses to establish a pattern of when they are likely to be on this site. You can do the same in the forum responses. Again, its not significant because M2 doesn't have a 'live chat'.

I'm on a home computer. I do have a sequence as to which order I view websites. What I never do is look at the clock and tell myself "Oh, its 4 pm, I have to go visit Mingle 2". I don't set time limits to how long I view websites either. I'm 'there' as long as I'm 'there'.

I imagine, people using their phones, tablets or game systems to visit Mingle 2, likewise are not thinking about what time they choose to be on this site. They visit when it strikes their fancy.

Then you have the whole 'night owl', work shift, free time specifics that throws a bigger monkey wrench into predicting visiting patterns.
Most people don't feel lonely to the point they start looking for someone at certain times. Some people are not using M2 to find a date right now. Some people are just curious when curiosity strikes them.

Sites like M2 are merely tools.
They are passive tools not active tools.
This means, most of the 'action' you are going to get is not live, in real-time.

Tom4Uhere brings up a certain good point..

I live alone, therefore, I never log out of sites (I hate remembering paswords and having to re-log into sites).

I am not sitting here in front of the computer 24/7...but I suppose some dimwits think so...

So...I guess a better way to gauge when someone is *actually* present on a site is to check the majority of their posts..see if there is a consistent time they are active?

I'm not a person who keeps my computer on day and night. I go offline after being on for a while.

I met a potential match on M2 but its still too early to tell.

The correspondence that lead to us meeting in real life didn't happen at the same time.
She messaged me and I didn't log on till later that night.
I replied and she didn't see it till the next day.
This went on for a few days till we both were comfortable offering each other our phone numbers.
Then we communicated in real time to set up the meet.
The website and message system is a tool, nothing more.

Its like correspondng by writing letters (anyone remember writing letters?). Not real-time interaction. The letters were the tool that lead to real-time interaction. M2 is the tool that leads to real-time interaction, if you use it correctly.
