but I really really enjoy signing up for a FREE site only to be told that in order to see who actually likes me I have to pay.

Why is it like this with every single dating site? I chose these sites because they advertise free. I hate microtransactions!

I think the term "dating site" is a bit strong. However, the forums are okay.

I would have to go out with them for a while before I could decide if I like them.

Anyone who actually wants to be in contact you will send you a private message, because private messages can be sent for free.

What's that?
" I really really enjoy signing up for a FREE site...?"
No. Not really. We don't mention what you really really enjoy doing.

Why is it like this with every single dating site?

Which part? People complaining about convenience not being free?
People like to complain. It's not just on dating sites.
You ever see Youtube videos of people attacking fast food workers because the restaurant ran out of nuggets or a special type of sauce? Crazy.
Thankfully the internet only really allows for impotent rage typing through sarcastic expression.

I really really enjoy signing up for a FREE site only to be told that in order to see who actually likes me I have to pay.
Why is it like this with every single dating site?

If you really really enjoy it, why are you asking why?
Just enjoy it.

Allow me to help clue you in on what some the other responses are saying...

I currently have 609 Matches.

Two months ago, I had around 120 Matches.

In other words, the vast majority of those matches are really spammers and scammers who just want to take your money or personal info. As such, they aren't real dating prospects.

In fact, there is a secret way to view them without paying, and without those profiles ever knowing that you viewed them. But it's not something I would reveal in the forums nor to a complete stranger.

But it is this secret - plus the fact that I once was also a paying member - that allows me to say with all sincerity and honesty that you should just ignore the matches.

Welcome on board waving

And just stick to the forums. Plenty of decent people here.

Why? Cos adverts maybe don't pay that much? Or they are constant, come and go.
Having online space & domain name does cost money. As does dating-site software & gadgets. They're not free.
And maybe some of the people involved in running M2 want to make a bit of money out of the work they put in.

But who cares, at least here you can send & receive messages, have the forums and some dating gadgets, all for free.

I always just presume, that nobody likes me.
That way, I never erroneously get my hopes up.

If, for whatever reasons, some chick does "like" me,
it matters not, if she doesn't have enough of a backbone
to let me know.

I mean, fo' realz.

If i like a chick, i'm not at all bashful in saying
as much.
