Maybe our governments lie to us all this time. Maybe there is oxygen in space but these fat pigs don't want us to ever leave the flat/spherical planet? Maybe earth is a prison designed to keep 7 billion inmates.

Apparently, the number of people who truly believe the earth is flat in on the increase. I suppose it might be because there are so many lies told by politicians that a round earth is seen as just another lie!

So why do people think that ther would be a multi zillion Dollar/pound, yen whatever, you name it, cover up, involving lots of countries, who dont get on at all. When it doesn't benefit them in any way to do so.
I mean If I learned that the earth was a flippin rhombus, It wouldnt change any part of my life whatsoever.

Only those people know the answer to that. Your questions have been asked many times but they never give a suitable answer. All they do is say that we've been lied to. When asked what exists at the edge of the earth, they will reply that the earth is in fact infinite in size. When asked why we stick only to the bit we know about and not explore the exciting lands beyond, they come up with all sorts of stories about an army that prevents people from going any further.

They can naver give an answer to questions about who is in this army, who pays for it, why do these soldiers not tell their family or friends what they do for a living, etc, etc. These days, with facebook, twitter, etc, someone somewhere would have accidentally or deliberately given the game away. It's impossible for people to keep such a gigantic situation totally secret.

Can you imagine that Trump (for example) knows all about this but never, ever, reveals even the slightest hint about it? There is no way he could keep such a secret from his twitter posts!

The observational and scientific data to date has disproven flat earth theory, but more interesting I think, indicates that the earth is at the center of the universe, which is another matter entirely. Anyways, we can pretty much say that the earth is a sphere and that there is space because we DID land on the moon. Russia was pissed that we won that race. If the earth was flat, they wouldn't have admitted anything, but kept silent instead. Also, we know that the moon landing was not filmed in a desert because faking it in 1969 would have been much, much more difficult and expensive, and pretty much impossible, than just going to the moon. It's all in the way the shadows were cast when looking at the photographs and film - they were parallel. They were cast by sun rays with no diffusion - not divergent as you would get on a film stage. Using studio lightning, which is a nearby point source, rather than 93 million miles away, would cause it's shadows to diverge. We simply didn't have the lighting tech nor the film-making capability at the time to fake it, which at the time would have required millions of lasers, far more than existed at the time.

Secondly, the only lasers to exist then were very large and only created red light, and they were expensive, and even attempting to assemble any apparatus of millions of large lasers would have far, far exceeded the cost of the entire Apollo project. It would have exceeded the budget of the United States itself many, many times over. In addition to Russia, scientists from Australia, Spain, and England at the time of the landing all independently picked up Apollo's transmissions from space and verified Apollo's positions and trajectories. Why would so many governments lie on our behalf to protect us when they were jealous that we got there first?

And if that isn't enough proof for you, Apollo also left behind a retro reflector on the moon so anyone can point a laser at it and get a return signal bounced right back. If the earth were flat, none of this would be possible.

Well, technically, I, you, we are the center of the Universe.
We look outward and the Universe is all around us.
Its not another matter entirely.
It is the same matter.

Both flat Earth and center of the Universe are arguments based on our individual perception.

And a flat earth after billions of years of pummeling by pop rocks would end up round anyway, being eventually bashed from all directions, and gravity and erosion finishing it off to a roundish shape.

I've said it before, what this thread needs is some popcorn and a debate between flat and hollow Earther's.

Plus some discussion on the accuracy of "The Sky Is Falling".
