How do you feel about your friend giving you the feeling of being pushed to be supportive of their endeavour to raise money/have income? After checking out after her first inquiry, I googled it... found it wasn't for me and told her so.. twice after that she forwarded me links etc with the MLM information.. Had to tell her twice, and even explain why I wasn't interested.. that it wasn't for me, but good luck..
She sent me a link on facebook to 'share', which I did... and I haven't heard from her since.. (where she used to communicate almost daily) |

I don't know her, but sounds like a typical "fair weather" friend. |

ya, idunno why she would quit talkin to you based on what you provide. yea.. me neither.. but who knows what the coming week(s) will bring. I'm not saying she's not talking to me (yet).. just that she's been uncommunicative since I told her I wasn't interested.. which has not been the norm.. I'm thinking she's perhaps offended? that I wouldn't support her - read (buy from her upline, etc.)).. O well.. like BlueGrass said.. perhaps a 'fair weather friend'.. but I've known her for 20 years (neighbor kinda). She will come around I'm sure.. just wonder how long it will take.. |

I have no problem supporting friends that start their own business nor do I have a problem not buying from them if it is something I'm not interested in or can go buy somewhere else cheaper..
If any of my friends quit talking to me cause I did not buy from them, then they were not much of a friend after all.. Friends do not put their friends in a corner to make them feel they should buy from them or help promote their business.. jmo |

I had one for 7 years.... Once i didn't have the money to go to her house, or things she went to..she quit cintacing me, or retuning my calls. I even suggested she come to my house and I'd make dinner and we could watch movies... She said my house was "too far".. blink blink I wasn't aware the road from HER house to my house was different than the road I used to go from MY house to hers.. But, whatever. |

If their idea of being a friend is trying to guilt me into buying or supporting something that I don't need, want or like then I haven't done a very good job of choosing friends.

A couple of other possibilities that I've seen myself.
Some of these "make money at home, in your spare time" schemes are conducted and run more like religious proselytization than they are as businesses. I had a friend way back who got involved with American Way, and that's how he ended up being no longer a friend. The whole enterprise depended on participants becoming both salespeople, AND business promoters. And in order to promote the business concept itself, they had to become (or at least pretend to become) TRUE BELIEVERS in the whole duplicitous idea of it all. The duplicity, of course, was in the fact that the PRODUCTS being sold, were not how a person in the business makes money. One only makes money on those schemes, by tricking other people into joining up, at their expense. Anyway. In addition to eating up all of a person's time, pursuing more people to trick into the scheme, and doing all the tracking and calculating required to get paid, the schemes demanded that participants try first to bring all their friends into the fold. Which of course, requires that they more or less sell their souls to the company first. And that can serve to embarrass any decent person, to the point where after you turn them down, they might be ashamed to contact you again. |
