Topic: Hare Krishnas? | |
---|---|
The cult like mantras and slogans repeated in the political threads got me thinking about the Hare Krishnas. I know they used to be all over the airports but have been pretty much chased out. I wonder where their stomping grounds are now or if they are strictly an online movement in these modern times. Has anyone seen any lately? My friend tells me: HK are here in LA they're feeding (s0mthing) cookies to the kids, and teaching that having two onions doesn't make you a boy. And CO2 will destroy planet Earth. Just say no to drugs. coffee is a drug. si se puede. time for self reflection, I don't know what it was, but something about that made me laugh ... smh I dont even really know what it meant. haa |

POS, Obama blaming the right for the massacre on Jews while hanging with his buddies bill ayers and Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam is a evil group, but Obama and Keith Ellison each support it. I blame the left and their anti- white rants for All the recent violence. If the left wants a war they will lose just like their losing this election. You forgot his buddy Reverend Wright. HAAAAAAAAAA,, it just gets so ridiculous. Where recently did you see OBama just,,, hanging out, with AYers or Farrakhan? You should sell that to a paper, it will get you paid big time. NOI is not an evil group and I support them, so what? Are you really saying that any criticism of a people should justify that people becoming violent? are you advocating such violence and war based on what you feel is anti white 'rants'? interesting. BUt NOI is evil, huh? as far as Reverend Wright, no more suspect than Steve BAnnon or David Duke, or the KKK, yet OBama had to publically denounce his relationship and his support, unlike TRUMP. |

BUt NOI is evil, huh? as far as Reverend Wright, no more suspect than Steve BAnnon or David Duke, or the KKK, yet OBama had to publically denounce his relationship and his support, unlike TRUMP. First. OBama 'buddied' up to alot of people in his years of working, its called networking ...lol. And OBama didnt appoint anyone to his ADMINISTRATION with questionably racist views like Bannon. so no, there is no difference, except the 'us vs them' nitpicking that is par for the course in political debate. Who cares if he spoke with Farrakhan, is that worse than speaking with Kim Jong? lol, more nitpicking. and no, I dont support that jews are termites. NOI does not either. By the way, did you know that the same group that declares FArrakhan a racist(ADL) also has Bannon on their list? interesting, huh? fact is, being a leader requires not just looking at mirror copies of people who kiss your butt and say yes, but also trying to communicate to, listen to, and discuss the issues that people who disagree with you might have. |

This article seems to have more actual information, and includes the reflections of actual members of the faith. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/acts-of-faith/wp/2016/10/27/after-50-years-hare-krishna-believers-are-no-longer-berobed-white-hippies-who-drum-up-donations-in-airports/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.7e2fc4d261bd thank you KLC, I missed this in all the political 'us verse them' rhetoric introduced into the thread. |

Under his stewardship, Breitbart emerged as the leading source for the extreme views of a vocal minority who peddle bigotry and hate. like I said, no side should continue to pretend the 'us verse them' rhetoric can prove that their 'side' is clean and the other is not, BOTH have characters who behave and speak questionably, BOTH. and no, for a LEADER there is no difference between being 'chummy'(meaning, having a photo taken with or speaking to) an alleged anti semite and doing the same with a brutal dictator. IT is cool to disagree, it is one of the privileges of being in this country. WE will continue to disagree about the fitness of Trump, (or OBama, for that matter, though after being elected TWICE, overseeing the prevention of a depression, and having to watch his every word, he is no longer POTUS) |

I suspect I will feel the same once #45 is out, unless they continue electing reality star narcissists with no real civil service or knowledge of government and politics.
But on a side note, any opinions about the ACTUAL TOPIC of Hare Krishna and where they have gone? |

Have you checked the Scientology buildings? They could be in there

I was told long ago, I don't know if its true, but I suspect there maybe something in it.
That many people, sort of choose an Indian god. And those that choose Krishna, often go a little bit loopy. Maybe that explains why I went a little bit loopy. I asked not all that long ago, in India, if I could change gods, they said sure, so I chose Ganesh. |

I don't know how to put a picture from the internet here. So instead I just put the link. It's a picture of Krishna. I wonder if there's a verse in the Bhagavad Gita, that would inspire us, too prevail through some of the tensions, sometimes found here. It would certainly ( in a way) make a change to the endless arguments about interpretation of scripture |
