I sometimes from when I was a child(where I could remember stuff) up until now have dreams that I would either remember or not once I wake up..and some time later in the future, those short occurrences in my dreams that had similarities to what would happen during real life events, and sometimes it takes me a while to process what was folding out because the deja vu I get...I think it was called precognitive dreaming, does anyone else experiences this?and how often does it happen to u?

Hello dear Night Owl. I am a believer of God, and that's why I call them prophetic dreams. I have filled up to 20 little vocable books with them. I know there can be also other sorts of dreams, but I want to talk about the prophetic dreams only. Oh, I can tell you lots of dreams who became real. God was sending me 3 dreams about the death of my mother, and 2010 exactly same way she died. I thank God, for preparing me this way.
Two days ago I received a dream, how my husband and I will live together in harmony, here in Germany. It is prophetic. Since 4 and half year we are struggeling for our togetherness, but the German Embassy doesn't believe in our wedding, which was 4 and a half years ago. I thank God for this wonderful dream to make me strong again.

Most important is 1. to remember a dream and 2. to interpret it right.
1. to remember. My routine is to memorise the dream with few meaningful words; writing them down, even on toilet paper; while drinking the morning coffee, or sitting in the train on the way to work, writing down the whole dream.
2. to interpret. I look at the feelings I had in dream; I watch out for key words, for the meanings behind; and I pray for understanding, for careful interpretation.

One thing you must know. When God sends a prophetic dream, He wants us to know and to understand His plan.
God bless you!

I've read quite a few studies on the nature of dreams and dream interpretation.
I 'feel' my dreams are often 'me' experiencing tidbits of alternate me's in alternate dimensions. Too many fine details to ignore (wind blowing dust, rain, associations felt with people I've never known).

It has been written that dreaming is a way for your brain to defragment.
While in REM, the brain is sorting and putting away all the stimuli it has experienced. Stimuli from all the senses.

I have experienced long duration sleep deprivation.
During that time, my brain hallucinated and the reality I experienced got all jumbled. This is because the lack of sleep kept my brain from processing all the stimuli. I became fragmented.
Thankfully, when I finally did sleep, my brain functioned normally again. I slept for a longer time than normally because my brain needed more time to sort the memories.

The reason we get a feeling of Deja-Vu is because our brains stitch together stimuli and feelings to form associations as memories that are then stored. You feel that you are remembering something that hasn't happened because when your brain defragmented that information it sorted it into a common memory. Deja-Vu is a general association triggered for a specific reality perception. Your brain fills in the gaps.

How the mind actually works is still not fully understood.
Its my belief that it will never be fully understood because each of us have minds that function unique to our brain physiology. Of the 7.5 Billion people alive right now, no two people have the exact same mind.
The best anyone can hope for is to understand their own minds.

Sometimes I feel like I am living in one of my past experiences, but still making the same old decisions. I have memories of things yet to come, and they are slowly unfolding as life goes along. I once was able to tell someone something that would happen, but was not able to let them know when. I few years after, it came to pass, but I never did hear from them again.

Hi nightowl . I have experienced vivid dreams that I remember only when they occur in the present .. at that time ., the dream sequence replays and I know exactly what someone will say or what will occur .. I strongly believe the theory of tiny micro seizures .. that a misfiring of neurones disjoints time .. past and present become muddled but they are one in the same :-)

This happens to me a lot. I'll dream about people I've never met, events that haven't happened yet. When they do, it's like everything has been prerecorded. I have no control over what I say and what others say and do unfolds identically to the dream. It really freaks me out. I feel like I don't have control.

I dreamed (vividly) of my partner departing, and everything being tarnished and in disarray afterward, several months before she died. The details of the dream made no sense till long afterward.

This was also a common experience for me between roughly the age of ten until my early thirties, when they gradually ceased. As in the above quote, for a short duration, usually about a minute, everything unfolded exactly as in the dream, with no ability for me to change it. The thing is, they would be about some completely normal yet unpredictable thing like a random conversation with someone. I have no idea whether this phenomena was neurological or parapsychological in nature (or even if their can be any meaningful difference between these two) but was very real in the sense that it was precisely as I have described it with the dream occurring days before the actual event.

Does anybody know if you can tell if you've had a precognitive dream in advance? Just asking. I mean I've had some weird dreams. You know?

I would assume so, perhaps you should look into it for yourself. Perhaps some people have precognitive dreams that they're going to have a precognitive dream winking

I've had that too, but sometimes the actual event is years after I've had that dream.
The déjà vu feeling can be really strong.

Funny thing is, when it happens you say "I've dreamt about that in the past" yet most of the time I cannot recall my dreams. So how to tell you dreamt it?
Kinda weird.

It is a peculiar phenomenon and I have no explanation for it happy However, it does seem that the real life event, the feeling of déjà vu and the original dream are all somehow inextricably linked.

While my dreams do entertain me when I remember them I know dreams are only my brain defragmenting.
Memories are sorted, moved around and stored during dreams.
With sleep deprivation people become fragmented.
Sometimes to the point of not being able to tell where reality ends and illusion begins.
Sleep allows our brains to sort memories and group them together, then store them for recall. It actually improves our memory to dream.
Our subconscious constructs scenarios during this defragmenting process.
We recall some of these scenarios as dreams.
Sometimes when we are stressed, we construct terrible scenarios which wake us feeling uneasy. Inner stress and fears cause many nightmares.
I don't have nightmares anymore because I am neither stressed or afraid.
I do have strange dreams. I am on meds and that might have a lil to do with that.
I practice meditation and thru meditation I have more control over my thoughts and it transfers to my dreams to allow me control in my dreams.
When I don't get a full 8 hours of sleep it is because actual physical pain wakes me and keeps me awake. At my age, my condition and my activity level, 5 hours a night is usually enough to keep me from fragmenting.

Difficulty falling, then staying asleep can be caused by many factors.
Health issues, pain & sickness can keep you awake.
Stress can keep you from sleeping enough.
Environment can prevent the relaxed state needed for you to fall asleep.
Drugs or alcohol use can prevent the relaxed state needed for a good night of sleep.

Some people respond to white noise, others total darkness.
Its important to prepare yourself to sleep.
Perform the same preparation routine about the same time every night (or day if you work at night). Think of it as acclimatizing your body for sleep.
Lower lights, turn down radios and television, talk softer, wear soft comfortable clothes, refrain from eating or drinking near bedtime.
Refrain from exercising near bedtime. Slow down.

Use mental disassociation techniques to reduce stress levels. Think about things which give you a peaceful feeling while laying there with your eyes closed.
Slow your breathing, taking long steady breaths naturally.
Its a process of slowing your body down so sleep can happen.
When I was working split shifts, I flexed my toes and fingers in a gentle rhythm concentrating on the motion.
I also listened to (still do) ambient trance music.

Dream Therapy, Lucid Dreaming, and How to Heal Your Life

Lucid dreaming is the state of being able to influence your dream despite still being asleep.

Dream therapy is a method of changing deeply ingrained unconscious patterning through dreams.

The human mind has an unconscious aspect where it stores everything that is not constantly referred to. Within that filing system lies bad experiences which have set templates for what we believe, and how we respond to future situations.

You can find a lot of websites dealing with dreams.

Healthy Sleep Habits

Much of their list aligns with what I have already written.
It works.

Quick Sleep Tips

Follow these tips to establish healthy sleep habits:

Keep a consistent sleep schedule. Get up at the same time every day, even on weekends or during vacations.
Set a bedtime that is early enough for you to get at least 7 hours of sleep.
Don’t go to bed unless you are sleepy.
If you don’t fall asleep after 20 minutes, get out of bed.
Establish a relaxing bedtime routine.
Use your bed only for sleep and sex.
Make your bedroom quiet and relaxing. Keep the room at a comfortable, cool temperature.
Limit exposure to bright light in the evenings.
Turn off electronic devices at least 30 minutes before bedtime.
Don’t eat a large meal before bedtime. If you are hungry at night, eat a light, healthy snack.
Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet.
Avoid consuming caffeine in the late afternoon or evening.
Avoid consuming alcohol before bedtime.
Reduce your fluid intake before bedtime.

mom Vera and nightowl to try and get what you both are talking about in a nut shell. First the type of dreaming you are talking about most professors and experts don't agree with or haven't ventured this path. And the lead Doc at Harvard said that as well his work basically denies this all together. However he is wrong I've had this going on as well since a child like nightowl and some other odd stuff. But if what you are talking about was not real then deja Vu would never happen. You see there is two realities you are connected to our physical reality and then a nonphysical reality(dream world). You are attached to. both but only the physical can usually recall memories and or make memories cause it. is linked to the. storage part of your brain. When startled by whatever at night and you come quickly from sleep the subconscious doesn't shut off in time and the last bits are stored. Once in reality you come to that point it will be as if you have already done. this which you have how many times is unknown. The conscious you lives in physical reality and is in control but asleep the subconscious is and it is defending in away against you by running through events in the future over and over to workout the changes that. have occured during the day due to your choices you have made. Now dreams being able to be explained is because you can only know what you already know. So at certain ages we all know basically the same things or. close depending on environment but this is why dreams can be mapped. Because you can only dream of future events as what you already know. So you dream about a day. hippo dude in a suit. Two years later your now new boss strangely looks like a hippo Ina suit. Well there you go the mind uses what it knows to interpret future events you will face just. as why two people can both think they know each other that's because we all run on the same frequency all interconnected to one another. The mentioning of God by Vera as a outside party is the only thing that people have all messed up because when you pray your talking to yourself that's it. Pure Energy is God about a basketball size ball that is God the mass just before the bang. God being comprised of the entirity of the universe and all of consciousness made a choice and with that choice a blast or. bang occurred he gave life and then 7. something billion years later here we are. Able to self reflect and think for ourselves were like mini gods all here for. one main goal to do. what God did. give to life understand that you mean nothing to the totality of mankind. Put life before yourself lose yours to preserve others without getting anything. for it to be selfless. What you are seeing in your dreams is real or would be possible at. some point you also aren't dumb at all because you have to know. a good amount about the world around you to have dreams come out like actual reality. Must of had some hard lessons or rude awaking to the world early on.

Dreams can feel really real ... I try and figure them out in my head ... as to why i dreamed this ...some can be explained ... but others nothing ...sometimes i dream about a person who ha been out of my life for a very long time ... and makes me feel bad in the dream... i wander am i missing something that keeps these thoughts in my mind unconsciously ...to hurt me ... have i not let go ... like i have thought ... I know their is nothing more to say ... so why the heck do i keep these things in the back of my mind ... when I don't care ... nothing will change in my life ... these dreams come and go ... i just put them aside ... what else can i do ... but cope with them ...
