Wondering if I should find a new dentist.

I had the same dentist for about 15 years. I thought he was very good. he talked to me and every we met, he shook my hand. he did some work on my teeth and he explained everything well. i felt confident with him. About a year and a half ago, he moved out of town and left a letter to his patients that he was leaving his practice to a different dentist. I don't know if I like the new dentist. Should I look for someone else? I only have two other choices.

well in the meantime to avoid going to the dentist get some Colgate Savacol green. this knocks infections out rapidly. if you don't have an electric toothbrush get one. and i now have an oral irrigator, or water pic. similar to what dentists use. even after you have thoroughly brushed the water pick cleans out more. remembering of course that bad/infected teeth can even cause heart attack, which is amazing.i've just stopped going to a local skin clinic because they didn't feel right and more towards $$$'s than care. i now have to find another one, as in your situation i will have to travel further. but how much is your health and comfort worth?

I had one dentist who was like a car salesman. I lived in a town 12 yrs -- at the beginning, he replaced some of my previous fillings, then "had" to do them again before we moved.

You could also check each of them out with the state board of licensing, see if they ever received disciplinary action.

I take really good care of my teeth, but things happen over time. I had my teeth cleaned today but told that it was easy because they were clean.
