This was a tough choice. I can safely say I speak for the
other judges that I have not seen so much talent displayed
in one place as I had on the American Poet Main Stage.
The second stage rocked as well! It was not easy to make
this decision- each poet was great! You breathed life into
this forum. Let's keep it going long after the contest is

I have never seen a thread so jam-packed with talent.
Any one of you could have won, it was THAT close.
When you go back and read the main stage entries you
will see just what I saw. I was in amazement.
Each person that entered this contest breathed new
life into this forum. Let's keep the wave going
even after tomorrow night's winner is announced.
I would have to say that the Main Stage thread was,
to me, a poetry dream team thread. The best of the
best. You should all be proud. You are all winners!

Jimi its gonna be a few days till I write again...never before has
writing some of the stuff I wrote taken a physical toll on me..it was
intense to say the least

You all made it hard on us to judge...There are so many good poems with
lots of feeling, and excitment. I am glad I did not have to write with
you all, I know I could not have kept up with your pace and
emotion...Congrats to all the poets that put their feelings on the line

In a way I am relieved, I don't have to drain the well any further. As
others have stated I am exhausted from writing this week. My spirit
needs a rest. I am amazed at what I just finished reading. Far more soul
in one thread than I have ever seen before. Congratulations again My
