Topic: What will we leave | |
---|---|
Often people use the phrase "What do I have to show for it?" When talking about a review of their life.
I remember a family friend who was killed by her husband. She happened to be a pediatrician but she lived a fairly modest life, not alot of flashy possessions, and two beautiful daughters. I was struck at her funeral at the number of people who came to remember her, standing room only and out into the parking lot and around the corner even. I realized how far she had gone to impact so many lives in her time here. I think that is the legacy to shoot for when we think what we will leave behind. what legacy are you shooting for, the material things or wealth you acquired? the career or financial status you reached, or the people's lives you touched? |

PHYSICALY,I will leave hundreds of acres of trees that I have had planted, which produces oxygen, shelters animals, and makes the world a better place!
but, even better than THAT,as a firefighter,my legacy is all of the people who I have gotten to help in my career, whether it is saving their property,or making sure that people are still around and able to stay a part of the lives of their families, and loved ones. PLUS,all of the charities that I have been involved in,especially the Percy R.Johnson Burn Foundation, and "Camp I'm Still Me",which is a summer camp for children that are burn survivors. I feel that THAT is the part of my legacy that is the most important. [and the most rewarding!!] so,with THAT in mind, who cares how many people come to my funeral? [if i can figure out how,i am not even going to attend it myself!!!] |

I have already hired 6 guys to carry me in my coffin thru the streets of my town . And 3 guys playing the trumpet and 3 others on the violins . Plus 12 professional mourners . I'm going with the New Orleans theme

When I leave this existence... I'm hoping those who knew me will have felt loved and have that memory to hold dear to them.

I think this is another way of asking what we are trying to actively accomplish in life, really. After all, you can't leave anything behind, unless you do things that make changes happen, in some way.
I don't have the power to do very much affecting others, or the world, but the thing I most would like to accomplish, is to get as many people as I can manage to, to think just a little more carefully about what they do and say, especially when it comes to letting someone else tell them what to do. Or not do. |

You touch many people's lives during your life . You leave your sons a good last name as was left to you. Your daughters you leave a good role model . Your grandkids , you leave love and memories
Your values , morals and wisdom get passed along and in some cases ..your sense of humor So you do live on in your children and Grandchildren. And they pass it on to theirs. That is what you leave behind. That is your mark |

When I die, the flying monkeys will be released.
I'm the one that keeps the monsters at bay. Werewolves, sleestack, kaiju, sasquatch, cupracabras and all sorts of mean nasty critters will be able to hunt you. On top of all that, the big one will be able to hit San Andreas, Yellowstone will erupt, La Palma will slide into the Atlantic and cause a megatsunami on the East coast of America and a huge asteroid will intersect Earth. The only reason these things do not happen is because I am here making sure they don't. And another thing, the reason why the internet has so much information for you to use is because I tirelessly check each and every website for validity. Without me, your internet will become a jumbled mess that is unuseable. People don't know all the things I do for them but when I'm gone, I'll be missed. |
