I questioned my motive for joining this site, knowing I'm looking for marriage and I'd never marry a non Christian. Is this a waste of time?

I was confident after prayer that the Lord didn't disapprove.

Just today over a hundred people have viewed my site, only one messaged and I politely replied.

no, seeking eternal life is not waste of time it is a gift of god.
jesus says in john 3:16
for god so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

and i believe that god loves you even though u dont know him because he know u whem u are in the womb in ur mother he created u by his image in the book of genesis. try to read the bible and study so that u may know him so well. have a nice day brother. thank you and godbless.

Where else will the lost hear the gospel?

In America and most western countries, every place is 'secular'. It is more important, I think, how we are living than who we might live next to or where we might go. Faith is not exclusive to any one place, it goes wherever the faithful go.

Most places we go are secular!! Christianity is a Lifestyle and Christians should always be very careful about how we spend our time. Obedience in what God says to do is important. Secular bars we don't have to hang out in. Choose friends wisely. Just a couple of suggestions.

The store? The mall? The laundromat? Work? All can be considered, and the vast majority are, secular. Should we hide in our homes, avoid contact with the world except as absolutely necessary? Nope. Can't go out into the world and make disciples by hiding out in a commune or your home.

Some places, especially if it caters to your weaknesses, probably should be avoided. Some places are more than likely useless going to most of the time. That is to say, unless you feel with full certainty God wants you there for a reason. (If he does, you will have a way out from any temptation.) Use your judgement. Take advantage of your relationship with God, He'll let you know where you can go and not... and when. Christianity is and should always be about the relationship between God and you first.

I joined because I felt God could use anything he wanted to to have me meet my wife to be. Here online (I met my late wife in one of the old Yahoo chat rooms. Anybody remember those?) As far as I know I could meet her on one of the dating sites, at work, or anyplace really. Although it would be hard to do so if I'm not there. I am getting the feeling though on these dating sites (catered to Christians or not) that the odds are not in my favor... the proverbial needle in one of a hundred haystacks. Yet here I am... eyes open, I hope.

Of course, Christians can attend secular places, but they must behave according to their way of life.

If we are true followers of Christ Eternal life is already given to us. Read John 3:16. The basis of the Christian faith.

The entire world can be viewed as secular, it's your actions, speech, mannerism, morals as a Christian that counts. It doesn't matter where you go, you should stand out as a child of God.

It doesn't matter how many persons have viewed your profile, or how many have responded, the operative is that God sees who you are and love you unconditionally. Even though we all need human contact and relationships, getting attention from man/woman is not what a Christian should seek.
