Is Scotland an option? Like to see some pics of Glasgow. Doubt I'll ever get a chance to go myself.

Oh, I thought I was going to Scotland. I was considering that route because I'd get to meet you too. I will have to look at the other packages because I definitely want to meet and hang out together.

Yes, I know about the weather. It's my only window of opportunity. With doing seasonal work I have to plan in between jobs. And unfortunately the summer positions are all 5 to 7 months so takes the entire summer season up.

I was looking for tours in the Philippines, but the tour group I'm working with doesn't have any.

I would love it if you could join me too... I will be posting lots of pictures when I do go.

Another resource you might consider is Google Earth (online version is Google Maps). There is a feature that allows you to go to 'street view'.
While the images may not be completely up to date it can give you an idea of the real world view.

Oh yeah... thanks for reminding me. I used this when I was searching jobs. Particularly the ones out West that I was considering.

Yeah, I was looking at some street views while I was composing my reply.
Lots of parks and attractions.
I zoomed in on the National Botanical Gardens near Dublin.
Used "Street Advance" to 'cruise the neighborhood'.
I could do a 360 view and zoom in on a view.
Note: Pretty woman leaving the gardens! LOL

The street view also gave a nice view of the vistas around Loch Ness.

If you are planning to do any hiking or biking Google Earth offers a route elevation map. You plug in your route and click show elevation and it gives you a representation of the hills and valleys along that route.
Not sure if Google Maps has that feature?
Also not sure how Google Earth works on a phone?

I have a laptop, I prefer that over my phone. I'm heading to the mainland in a bit, so will check it out when I get back.

I would never go near Temple Bar. It's a tourist trap.

I'm not really interested in that kind of stuff, and since I don't drink, I doubt I'll be visiting very many pubs. I'm more interested in scenery and natural landmarks.

Tough one this, there’s so much to see and do.
From real Cornish clotted cream afternoon tea and scones in Cornwall (beautiful by the way) to the Lochs, mountains and distillery’s of Scotland. The warmth of the Irish people to the breathtaking Mountains and countryside of Wales.
The history is amazing, the cathedral in my town is 1300 years old, the Castles, the architecture and loads more.

I’ll think on it over a couple of days and write up an itinerary, which obviously you can fit to suit you.
There’s some places you can’t miss, London obviously, though very expensive but ok for 2 or 3 days.


If there was one place in the UK I had to recommend it would be the west coast of Scotland.
If you love nature, calmness, breathtaking beauty and feeling at peace with yourself then this would be it.

As mentioned before, National Botanic Gardens. And Glasnevin Cemetary right next to it. Okay, it is a graveyard, but there is some Irish national heroes buried there.

Thanks joe... I appreciate that. The things you described are the kind of things I'm mostly interested in. I love old buildings, castles, ruins, and nature. The west coast of Scotland sounds perfect, I'll have to check it out.
