Good morning Mikey Thanks... It's definitely a challenge, pretty sure I'm up for it

It's a wonderful opportunity and goes along with what this summer is about. Making myself more marketable in the professional world and opening the door to better paying positions. And being the primary person that the guests interact with will help with the other purpose of this summer... interactions and relationships with others.

It's a lot of hours and very little free time... Though they did say I can put the sign on the door if I want to leave for an hour or two to go walking or bike riding. So that's cool, I'm not going to be totally glued to the place. There's plenty I can do here at the Inn during down times... read, watch tv, get online, bake and cook.

Guess that means "Love" will have to wait until after November to show up The Island thing kind of got to me... How romantic it would be to have Love show up on an Island

Oh that reminds me... I saw a couple get married yesterday in the park. It was beautiful to see and watch..... And they were an older couple... Made me smile, cuz that means there's still hope for me!

Oooo...Now there's a thought..... Don't think I'd like the winters though. It's very very very cold here in the winter time... and damp

People do live here year round though. I prefer to do what my bosses do. Work the the 7 months here, go travel for a month or two, and then go home until the next season, lol. Not sure I will do that though, I will definitely take a month to travel, but I want to go out West next year for summer. Still not sure though

I'm just doing some paperwork and prices for some jobs.

They gave me the paperwork and let me know what I need in order to get it. I mostly wanted to talk with a real person to find out if it's possible, and she said yes... My Florida ID hasn't been expired too long, so I will be able to get one for sure.

Oh, I forgot to mention the really cool part about having this position... I get the two bedroom apartment all to myself, and they said when my sons come to visit, they can stay with me... For Free!!!

My youngest is very excited. He's married and would love for him and his wife to be able to stay overnight on the Island. And I have bikes for them, they love to be outdoors.

That would be lovely. much better for you to be able to have people stay

does it get hot there in the summer?

Yes, they could before, but would have had to share my room and that wouldn't be really comfortable for them or me.

Not really... mid July and August it can get up in the 80's but the nights are cooler. The bugs here are horrible from what I've been told. Once it slows down later in the summer, I will have a little more freedom to roam around a bit. I will still get at least one day a week off, probably not two though... But that's okay.

We open on Thursday Mikey... Today is my last day off before that happens.

My bosses gave me a free pass to the Grand Hotel... non-guests can spend the day there for $10. I'm going to spend the day in luxury... there's a beautiful fountain and garden. And I'm treating myself to the luncheon buffet.

Who knows, maybe my prince will show up in the gardens.... It will be just like the movie "Somewhere in Time"
