I left DH years ago when I did find a "Hook Up" and even tho DH resulted in more "Hook Ups" than the other sites, once I left, I never returned.
I spent some time in the DH Forums. I was TomisHere. You may or may not remember me. I assure you, I am not the same person I was back then. DH Forums seemed to be filled with a lot of people with a lot of drama, sometimes to the point of insanity. M2 Forums, seem to be filled with a lot of personality but these personalities are predictable and predictability is sanity. For instance, at DH I enjoyed the music threads. Likewise, I enjoy the music threads here. Unlike DH, what is posted in the music threads doesn't seem to cause drama and animosity. We are not assumed to be talking about someone in the forums by the selections we post, unless it is a dedication thread. While there are groups of posters posting together in specific threads, most contributions are welcomed by anyone wanting to post. You need to be rude or insensitive to get shunned by most on here. On DH, If you didn't belong to that 'group' you were ostracized from the thread. Usually, very rudely. I did make some forum friends on DH but I have made more forum friends on M2. To my friends I offer a warm welcome. To those I don't know I offer a warm welcome. To the buttholes, find someplace else for your narcissism and drama games. All you will do is disrupt a good community. |

Loosen up a bit and don't take everything so seriously isn't bad either. Being civil and being too sensitive about every little thing are different. Nott a difficult concept to grasp really. |

Some people are too weak to survive the jungle. It the law of nature. Eat or be eaten. As far as predictability being equated with sanity I have to disagree. A paranoid schizophrenic is quite predictable. Someone who has OCD is predictable. You know that they will ritualistically wash there hands for 20 minutes every time they touch something (read anything) "unclean". Predictable is boring and pedestrian. They can't handle the randomness of reality so they retreat to some form of predictable avoidance thereof....i.e. insanity. Some people are too weak to survive the jungle. It the law of nature. Eat or be eaten. M2 forums is NOT the jungle. Everyone is allowed to comment on any topic as long as they respect the rules, both written and implied. Its not a test of strength, it is a collection of opinions on a wide range of subjects from people of all walks of life. As far as predictability being equated with sanity I have to disagree. I understand that. And you are entitled to your opinions, Just Like Me. A paranoid schizophrenic is quite predictable. Sure they are, if you know them and understand their condition. However, if you Don't know them and Don't understand their condition their acts will be confusing until you find understanding. Predictable is boring and pedestrian. I find that most people I meet want predictable. Predictability gives comfort and assurance. It reduces the fear factor of fight or flight and allows unity. Predictability allows people to find commonalities that create lasting relationships. M2 is a social site. Meaning, it promotes sociability. Disruption breaks the harmony of its sociability. You can disagree with an opinion of another but what you can't do is attack, belittle or ridicule the person making it. Mutual respect is not a contest, can and usually does result in harmony and expansion of thought. |
