Lacking Family & Friends ONLY filters, I don't think it's a good idea to post any specific personal information at all. Even then, dirty laundry belongs in the hamper, IMHO.

I stopped using social media.
The only thing I use facebook for now is pictures of family. I removed all the data about me I could without losing the account. I ended my twitter account completely. As far as I'm concerned, nothing should be posted to social media. After I removed all but my family from facebook I got a deluge of emails from facebook trying to goad me into returning. I still get around 4 emails per week that I have going directly into my spam folder. I even set my skype and google hangouts to invite only. Basically, I've lost interest in social media completely. I do, however, participate in roughly 40 online forum communities. A very wide range of subjects. Narcissism is high in status updates. |

home address (stalker material) whether at home or on vacation, alone or with company(material for thieves or home invasionists to use) Job title Wokrplace name ... once you publicly associate yourself with them your posts can be used by them to discipline or fire you. |

I say hang the laundry and let if fly, don't like it, go the other way I suppose. In that it is a social forum where people can discuss points of interest. It is very different from the social media of status updates tho. Topics are initiated and there is discussion that ranges by point of view and opinion on the topic at hand. Status updates are not discussions. This OP is about status updates and what we consider no-no posting. Status updates are usually intended as one way notifications. |

There are so many things that should not be or "trend" in current pop culture. There are people and subjects that I will not mention whom should NEVER be in my consciousness....that are.
