Chappelle tackles the controversy of his spring Netflix specials head-on. His bewilderment at having been charged with transphobia after joking about trans women (“Let’s go to the club and trick niggas into ****ing us. Yeah.”) is tempered with both empathy for the community he routinely mocks and more jokes about that community. His argument is that anyone who would think his words are an excuse to go out and harm someone is an idiot and he doesn’t hate trans people because everyone deserves to be happy. The moral of the story? Dave Chappelle makes fun of everybody—you can get these jokes, too.

Comedy is hard and not everyone is for every audience, but Chapelle's insights nearly always(not always) make me chuckle at his honest and playful perspectives.


Anyway, I know the title had you thinking this was a Trump thread, but its more on the 'current' events side as Chappelle got a bit of heat from the Trans community for some of his jokes.

It DOES seem like its a trick to have a penis and try to have a guy think you are a female. Kind of like walking around a crime ridden neighborhood in a cop uniform.

And it DOES seem like a photo of a nude Caitlyn Jenner(to which Chapelle jokingly referenced with a 'yuck') would not be appealing, since 'she' does still physically look like a man for the most part and a man with womens genitals is probably no more appealing than a woman with womens genitals that has the rest of the body looking like a man.

I think that the mean spirited comics, that only ever lambast EVERYONE else arent nearly as clever as those who can mock across the board even the demographics they are a part of themselves. It cant be easy to get people from so many groups in a room laughing together at themselves and each other. I have a brother that did it for years and those guys have some serious observations about the world, I wonder why they are not all secretly suffering from depression with their keen senses.

I remember all his jokes from The Chapelle Show about crackheads.
I wonder if a bunch of crackheads tried to go into a police station and complain about the crackphobia, but then they tried to score some crack from the police in the middle of their statement and got arrested.

Oh, I was in Penn Station for a sandwich the other day, and I heard a guy muttering "holla holla holla, let me holla at ya, holla holla holla holla," kept saying "holla holla holla" for about 3 minutes.
That reminded me of the skit from The Chapelle Show and made me smile.
I think. He was like 35 and looking at the 16 year old cashier that was ignoring him. I might have been grinning at the situation.

There seems to be a lot of tricks played at clubs.
Guys dressing and acting like women to try and trick guys into having sex with them...is that better or worse than a girl dressing and acting like they're going to have sex with a guy, but really just want free drinks and attention, and have no intention or desire to have sex with the guy?
Hmmm...one trying to trick you into having sex with them, the other tricking you into thinking you could have sex with them.

more than two words ... Dave Chapelle is a mere mortal with no control over love, belief, or hope. If our future is bleak, it is not his doing at all.

He is not leading the future, he is only making social commentary on the reality of the present.

I remember the skit where he was a milkman making his rounds and trying to collect payment from the Nigah family! Funny as hell you gotta watch.
