My family lived in San Antonio for generations. That is where Tex Mex comes in. Mom decided to do something different this year but we are traditional people so we will have queso, guacamole, tace ring....something lol

Most think we are crazy because we go Tex Mex on xmas eve lol

I have fixed Mexican food more then once on Christmas.. due to we have our Christmas dinner a few days early I want something different on Christmas, at times..

This year my Christmas dinner will consist of homemade enchiladas, rice, beans & guacamole.....

And if all works out I may be going for a ride that day... to really top the day off..

i wouldn't call that over doing it.
now a mingle sized yatch?
that would be overdoing itbigsmile

Hahahah normally what I buy me is something I need for the house or under a $100.... well except when I bought my new recliner year before last but then I have got a lot of use out of that and well worth it...

This year I went way above all that so this might be my Christmas present for a few years to come lol

Yeah, but it is a nice bike (trike).

Thanks, Tom yea it is sweet something I have wanted for years... and thought that it was one dream I was going to have to put on the back burner... whoa biggrin

Looks like if the job in Colorado doesn't come through I will be spending Christmas in Traverse City, MI with my sons! WooHoo!!!

I decided if the job doesn't happen to give myself a winter adventure anyways, one of my stops will be spending time with my sons for Christmas.

Gunna Drive or Fly?
I would think holiday travel would be very stressful?
Especially such a long distance.
Hope you're able to beat the insanity of the Christmas Rush.

I'm flying, didn't really think about that part, but that's okay. I seriously doubt it will be stressful for me. The last two months has been pretty much a nightmare, so this will be more like Heaven! So long as I keep thinking that way, it will be fine.

I live on the coast in Texas. Some of us around here fly Christmas lights year round. I do that with LED rope lights. When my kids were here I used to make a 20 foot high Christmas tree light tree in front yard. I had girl stop at my gate yesterday watching me doing gymnastics on ladder trimming my palm tree. I think she is next door neighbor's maid. Cute blonde from little I have seen. I swore off blondes years back, then I married one. Hopefully maid dyes her hair! No way to know what color a girl's hair is or what her last name is today.

Going to my College Professor friends for Dinner Christmas Day.

Today is the 15th and a Friday.
For years it was the Friday near the 15th when we got our Christmas bonuses. That influx of money was the signal that Christmas was just around the bend and we scurried off to do all the last minute shopping and buy all the extra goodies for the holidays.
The kids had Christmas plays at church and school, there were office parties and friend parties and sometimes we hosted as well.
The abundant cash-flow put everyone in a good mood. Even the crankiest of bosses were a joy to be around.

I'm wondering if anyone here gets Christmas bonuses?
Does it change how the people around you act? Have you noticed?
Do you do or buy anything out of the ordinary when you get your bonus?

How vital is that influx of money to the attitudes of the people around you?
Does it seem like there is just a bit more Christmas Spirit now?

Not really doing anything except making a ham for dinner.
Decided to do it stovetop this time (I usually crockpot it).
Using sliced apples, cherry cider, plum nectar , apple juice, agave nectar and honey, just a sprinkle of brown sugar.

I spend it with the people I love and the people who love me..my family. A lot of good food, good conversations and a lot of laughs. It's a time to take stock in what is important in life.
