Topic: Tall men are just fashion accessories ! | |
---|---|
Controversy.
I am short, and the most often reason women give to me why they only want a tall man, is so the man is still taller than them with their high heels on. So I lose out to shoe accessories. No love, no soul mate, no genetic stock improvement, no spiritual / religious / physical reason, not even for a big , but just because of impractical and fashionably stupid footwear. Lookout they don't also want to dress you up in colours to match their handbag ! So then, I'm looking for a short barefoot loving lady, or a flip-flop / thong wearer, without any fashionable pedestrian issues, so my tiny body can monster over her, making her feel like she has a massive man. Well fashion victims and fashion accessories, what have you got to say about that ??? |

I'd say I am 5ft 10 though I may be shrinking with age as we speak

Humm I'm 5'1 use to wear heels all the time now just once in a while.. I have dated a couple guys that was shorter but most were from 5'10" and up...
But yea I still prefer a man that is taller then I'm and well due to there is meat on my bones I want him taller and some meat on his as well... It is all a preference of what one sees as attractive to them.... But it is not wrote in stone~~when it comes to online sure we can even be more pickier... But even I have meet guys that were close to my height that I seen no problem with... Personality comes out and some would be surprised who would date them... But one thing that will make me turn around and walk away is whining~~ can't stand it will not deal with it no matter what... |

thats strange. how many women have said this to you?
First time Ive heard it and certainly one of the weirdest things Ive heard. For me taller men are just 'my preference' But, for me, preferences are not mandates so it doesn't mean I would not date a shorter man with other appealing attributes What I like about the taller man is the feeling that they are the 'bigger' person physically and the feeling of safety that brings ... |

Define tall...
To some you are short, same or tall. To others you are you... find those "others" |

Simple really...wear high heels too.

So it's all my fault, and I'm a wingey whiny for feeling totally left out and neglected by all of woman kind for the last 8 years or so since my partner died.
In that time I have politely asked out dozens of women - and nothing. In that time I have joined about a dozen various dating sites - nothing. In that time I have not had even a single peck on the cheek for birthdays, christmasses, new years, or anything. Not even an aunty kiss. Nothing. In that time I have heard every excuse under the sun in person, but height is the most common excuse given to me in on line date sites and forums. The best I an get is a nudge from someone who has had their account closed. Or a useless like from someone in another country. I don't want to wear elton john boots, or look like a dandy to assist a fashion tragic. I don't care how tall or short someone is, unless they are blocking my view. But you look at the ladies' requirements, they nearly all specify a minimum height for their man. And on some sites women specify other large parts too ; which if a man asked for a maximum size, he would be badly thought of. No equality there ! Just look at the standard ladies' request for tall, dark, and handsome; that's three things I can't claim to be, thanks ladies. Even if I wore stilts, got blacked up, and wore a mask, I'd lose out. I guess it's ok for women to prefer taller men. When a man wants a woman who isn't robustly "Thick" women verbally assault him for being only interested in "LOOKs".
We all need to face reality that people (men and women) want to have some amount of physical attraction with their romantic partner. |

Simple really...wear high heels too. Back in the mid 70's shoes called platforms were available for men. Made them look a few inches taller. |

Dear op .. don't blame the shoes .. blame genetics ... and species survival I agree; the preference may go back to cave dweller days...a taller and/or larger male might've been seen as a better protector of the family...after The Monolith was first touched. |

I'm 4'11".... So pretty much all men are tall to me.
I really don't have a preference, other than I'd like him to be at least 5'0" tall. A few inches taller is nice, but it's more his personality that matters to me. |

Ive seen short men and even men who were deemed as unattractive date some awesome women, and the qualities those men had in common were charisma, confidence and a kick azz sense of humor.
Its a rare combo but Ive found that women are quite drawn to it almost regardless of the height or look of the package it comes in. |

Ladies' mothers, pets, and children think I'm charismatic; that's no good for me.
My twisted cynical sense of humour is mis interpreted by most people. A lifetime of rejection has destroyed my confidence among people; but alone I can do anything, except the really nice things needing 2. All the really short women I met wanted really tall partners only. In future times with the earth nearly destroyed by greed, and food and safe water very scarce, small people will survive better than the tall and fat and the stupid but good looking. Big tough allied POW's suffered more by starvation than their smaller buddies, in asian slave camps. And with increasing over population, smaller will be better in the future; but until then, it seems I am just a curio, a 3dr wheel, a child minder, a but of short jokes to giraffes, lummoxes and oafs, a plus 1, a backup when the boyfriend doesn't want to do something. Not a fully grown man with feelings and needs. Such is life ! |

I thought this discussion would have generated more criticism than it did, and I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of argument and vitriol.
I suppose the tall guys couldn't care less. Now I'm bored again. Or is political correctness, apathy, or over cautious anti-bullying paranoia suppressing antagonistic replies ? I've got more arguments up my sleeve. |
