Is marriage without sex a sin? lol ... back on track, huh? According to the Bible, it is a sexual sin to fornicate, along with adultery, bestiality, lust in one's heart, incest, same sex sex. According to the bible, we are each prescribed to have our own (one) "husband" and one "Wife" for fulfilling sexual intimacy. Yeah it was droning on...had to throw some life on it lol |

Er...something like that? |

I'm sure there are couples who marry for reasons other than consummation. What about royalty who marry the 'right' person, as seen by the courts that control their actions? What about gay people many years in the past. I would imagine there are many gay men who would marry a gay woman to appear 'normal' to their family and friends. A royal princess might well have had a lover and her husband wouldn't mind because he would have had a mistress!
Although some parts of the bible, as I remember it, say that marriage is for the purpose of creation, I think they've turned common sense on its head. I would prefer to say that if you wish to create another life, you should start off by choosing your mate, getting married and then deciding (we're lucky to have that ability) when and how many children to have. The purpose of marriage is then to provide a stable home with a set of parents to bring up the child(ren). These days same sex couples are allowed to be married (in the UK) and even to bring up a child. I guess I am at an age when it is difficult to imagine saying to my schoolfriends that my Dad does (whatever) for a living and my other Dad does something else. I don't have any problem with people being gay, just not come across that situation myself. It does however amplify my earlier statement that we should not be judgemental of others as we're all different. To say that the purpose of marriage is to create life is only one aspect, the one the various churches encourage. There are many ways to live these days and of course some of them are outside the church rules. I do feel sorry for those in the LGBT community who feel strongly that they are Christian (or Muslim, Hindu, etc) and therefore (in their opinion) the rules of the church are wrong. I think they will have a long uphill struggle but I do believe if the concept of 'church' is to survive, some of the rules will need to amended. We might even get a woman pope one day, but don't hold your breath! |

Nothing in the Bible mandates sex in a marriage, or describes lack of it as sinful, except in intentionally withholding it from the other. There is no warning against both being willing to abstain in agreement though. |

My bible said sow your seed and there's only one place it will grow and it's a beech to get there without being nasty.

Ok, look up the meaning of the word "miscegenation". That right there got the us to start a marriage certificate. Now, how did people from the biblical times get married? did Abraham got get a marriage certificate when he married his wives? Or did Moses the same with his 3 wives?

From the New Testament
Galatians 3:28 (KJV) There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 King James Version (KJV) 3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: 1 Thessalonians 4:3–5 (NKJV) 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; |

Butterflies do not need marriage licensure to have morality.
There is one truth, and many religions. |

IT is a good question in theory, when discussing how customs are regional. but the law of the land is whatever the law of the land is, whatever time that is in. In the case of the bible supporting having a wife or husband, it is relevant to what is LEGALLY and culturally defined as husband or wife, regardless of region or difference. We are to obey the laws where we are alongside the laws of the Bible. |

Is Sex Without Marriage a Sin?
Only when you think it is a sin. There is no answer to the OP in scripture or law because it applies to your own personal views. The concept of 'sin' is a personal guilt trip. It is based on your actions related to your beliefs. If your beliefs do not consider it a sin, it is not a sin and you will experience no guilt. If I am told and taught over my lifetime that eating chocolate is a sin. If I eat chocolate, I have sinned according to my beliefs. I bear he guilt of the sin. I need forgiveness to remove the guilt. Its a burden I put on myself because I believe it. If I don't consider it a sin, I hold no burden for that action. It is a non-event because it has no significance. Many believe in the idea that they should not worship any gods before God. Yet, they don't consider their need for money or material possessions a sin so there is no guilt. Yet they worship these things openly without remorse. It's not a sin, because they don't think of it as a sin. No burden, no need for forgiveness. |

Oh boy .... then I am going to hell!!
I think sex is like having doing homework every day before marriage |
|
|
|
It was more of a sin in the past than it is today, mainly because today consequences are unlikely to carry down through multiple generations from children being disadvantaged by not having a strong family, as the scenario was in the past.
I strongly doubt it is intended to be a guilt trip. |

Sex without marriage is not a definite sin. There are other things many people including me do every day that are definite sins.

No I don't think it is.
If we were atoms or molecules are even complex carbon structures all have to replace each other.. do you think to carbons at a molecular level say I am going to marry you. They act on instinct.. if your thought is marriage that proves that it is your instinct to evolve a marriage stops working as soon as your DNA is one and you seek new evolution at a genetic level. |

Sin is evil with a warning label on it. It is not a requirement of worship in order to fit in with the group.
Marriage is a covenant between God, people, family, and friends. |
|
|
|
Sin only exists if you believe in invisible magical friends, and the bogey man.
