IMO I don't care how or when it started. It isn't just the NFL. They do it at baseball too (I only watch those 2 sports).

If someone is in a jersey and getting paid, they are on the job and part of it. They can protest on their off time. They get tons of money. Whether people think the sport is barbaric or not, these players picked that career and are very well paid. Piss off the fans, the sponsors respond. When they respond the player or team has to deal with it. The fans and sponsors pay their pay checks. People have a right to their free speech but so does the opposing side.

Kaepernick knelt because of police brutality. I agree theor are bad cops. Just like bad doctors, lawyers, fast food workers etc. But many are good cops. The media loves to show the negative. Where is Kaepernick now?

Those taking a knee, these days, probably have no clue why it even started.

I would rather they stay in the locker room then take a knee. What the flag represents has nothing to do with the protest. I still have the flag from my dad's coffin.

They could be more sensative and pick a better time to protest.

For everything a season, life moved on past BLM protestors, and it will move on past the "NFL is about patriotism, not playing football" crowd as well ...

and quite possibly the crowd who may be tuning out BECAUSE they are trying to silence the players and black list Kaepernick.

Collin isn't blacklisted, he's just not a very good quarterback...

He is better than some of those others they are keeping or those they are choosing in his stead.

If the owners and players cant stop the the players from acting foolish than the NFL is on its way out...

Don't they know they are killing the golden goose?

sports will never be 'killed' it will only evolve to the culture.

There are still hundreds of millions of NFL viewers, contrast with the MLB(baseball)which only has hundreds of thousands and still goes strong.

there will always be sponsors for sports, regardless of how viewership evolves.

Sports make me laugh, especially your and our football.
Originally for the poor working class and it was hijacked years ago by big money. yet the people they take the money from are still the working class who will slag off there boss at work because he's built up a business through hard work and makes good money yet a player who's on 100.000 a week is a hero whoa

not much different with rugby, or soccer or any other 'traditional' sport. And though they play a game, I never assumed they didn't work hard at it. My brother was an athlete, its not exactly sitting on your butt in air conditioning barking orders, and it makes the profiteers a ton of money, which is the reason it pays the 'workers' so well, unlike the corporate world which praises the profiteers and enriches their pockets,

while it continues to thumb its nose at the 'workers' who should be grateful with whatever pennies they choose to trickle down to them.

People do make heroes of mere men and idols of mere symbols. I have never succumbed to either trend, but I have been familiar with the logic of those who do.

I agree "sports will never be 'killed' it will only evolve to the culture" but many will stop watching pro football and watch college football like I did...

No doubt. And many wont watch any. And many will watch more to show support for the players choice to make a statement.

National boycott of the NFL for Sunday November 12th, Veterans Day Weekend. Boycott all football telecast, all fans, all ticket holders, stay away from attending any games, let them play to empty stadiums. Pass this post along to all your friends and family. Honor our military, some of whom come home with the American Flag draped over their coffin.

Please "share", "copy and paste".

Here's the deal, like many exclaimed about BLM protests, not 'all' cops are bad.

and regarding protesting the NFL , not 'all' players, or NFL employees feel the same or present themselves the same.

The way I see it, unfortunately, some will hold a whole group and EVERYONE impacted by or a part of that group accountable for what some have done, and others will only want to see those who have caused problems be held more INDIVIDUALLY responsible. Some will see an anthem and/or flag as too holy to kneel in front of/during, and others will not.

in the end, there are much more important things going on that truly affect peoples LIVES, mortal breathing BODIES, in this world and hopefully enough come to realize that and move on with their lives than will throwing a tantrum about symbolic displays.
