The problem with long distance is.. At one point you are going to want to be with the other person and cannot.. And it's going to happen more than once in a while.. and it's really really going to suck.. And then you're going to start to think why am I doing this.. why am I having a relationship with somebody I can't see at a moment's notice...why?. And then you're going to think why can't I find somebody that lives in my city close to me?. And then it starts.. you start going down that slippery slope.. you start thinking why shouldn't I date somebody that lives in my city.. somebody that is here for me whenever I need them..hmmmm.... Make way for the Snowball Express..lol that sucks pls say there are good things to it too |

Make way for the Snowball Express..lol that sucks pls say there are good things to it too Me and my live almost 2 hours apart. That's considered long distance over here. So far we make it work, but yes, it isn't always easy to not be able to see each other more often or 'in between' for an evening together during week days for instance or when you just feel like it, when there's a fun event during the weekends and so on. If that situation lasts forever it would at some point become unbearable because feelings do grow and get deeper. The advantage is you won't so easily end up in a LAT relationship, which I really don't want. As a woman you have to really be strong and wanting to have much alone time, as in really away from your partner, to be able to pull a LAT relationship off. Otherwise you end up 'servicing' the man and hurting because deep down you want more than just that LAT thing. (I think for man this is easier to do, less bonding and a nice way to not have to commit 100%) I need a lot of alone time, but more like "me" time. I can get that when my partner is with me too, as long as he ain't clingy and needy. And my partner wouldn't be, cos then he wouldn't be my partner. I cannot bear that, lol. It also prevents you from running before you can walk. You have to take it kind of slower than you otherwise might have because of the distance. So if you tend to move too fast it can be an plus. Seeing each other again is so wonderful! The longing to get together again gets time to grow stronger and stronger. If you see each other several times a week, I think that will wear off much faster. In spite of that you do build and things do grow (when you're right for each other of course) because you do stay in touch in between. So yeah, there are advantages, although it can be exciting as when you get to that point of both wanting and needing more, it can also mean breaking up, depending what both want next: moving in, moving closer and having a LAT relationship or... ending things. |

I have been in a long distance relation with a girl from the Philippines for over a year now. However she is only separated (no divorce in that country and annulment is long and expensive). And 4 kids. I send her money every month for support and yes I have met her, but not her home, 2 hours from her home. But now it is very difficult to move there and now she wants me to buy her a house haha. I think the snowball is melting. I have caught her in a couple lies last year and only when I caught her she admitted. I am thinking now she is using me. Poooooo
