If it were a first or second date, I'd go with a light comedy. Nothing too deep or serious. I would not go for horror. It would make me have second thoughts about the guy if he chose that.

I like cat's comment.

I think if my date is taking me to the movies, I would like to be asked what movie I would like to see. I like movies with happy endings. Not horror movies though... not even if it had happy ending, like the hero survived but all the others died horrible deaths.

What type of movies are the best for dates?

Any movie you'd both enjoy having had a conversation with them and figured out what kind of movies you have in common?

Otherwise something you know you'd enjoy and want to share the experience with the other person and they really want to share in the things you enjoy?

I agree--light comedies good; slashers not.

Why bring up chick flicks? I like all kinds of movies. I like action, westerns, good drama, fun, R-rated and something unexpected. I was just having the feeling that the topic had to do with going on a movie date with someone you haven't known long.

For me it's more anout the company. I'm happy with anything not a scary movie. I like Disney movies and action movies.

I prefer horror, comedy love story and martial arts movies. But ideal for a date would be something that you both like would definitely enjoy. Some guys I think likes horror movies thinking that the girl will move closer to him when scared and he'll have a chance to hold the girlscared  whoa  laugh laugh but he'll be disappointed when the girl likes horror and doesn't get scared:tongue: tongue2 slaphead laugh laugh laugh
