When I was young... our next door neighbor had an old macopa tree... the only macopa tree in the neighborhood... and my cousins and I used a long stick with a hook (sungkit) to steal the macopa fruits. Well, if the fruits were hanging over our property, was it really stealing? lol

I can relate well with your story.... because where I live now I have a mango tree whose branches crossed the wall into a neighbours home....they usually enjoy the juicy stuff.... Well I don't complain because it's in their territory... they also would come into my premises to get more ... Lol... we have good rapport.... |

As a kid, I was very good at climbing trees because I spent the first 10yrs of my life at our country home. we had lots of trees :pears, ![]() ![]() to.... they don't have edible fruit like mangoes, or pears, or the guava.... Mom would worry herself and scream at me and even threaten to whip me if she gets me climbing any the trees......but I won't listen... She got tired. Dad was not always around to enforce things....I was a such a active kid. Tree climbing was a dangerous hubby for me. Interestingly,I have never fallen off a tree....and still climb the trees in my present home as an adult. |

wow..memories...streets in south florida got to hot, steam came off during the rain...and the theaters had double features plus a cartoon plus sing-along songs (watch the bouncing ball)...and you could stay and watch the darn things over and over again without paying extra...

When I was young I use to lay my sister down in front of my ramp and jump over her with my bicycle
As we got older she learned how to motor cross with a dirt bike and said boog now it's my turn. And she was the only one I'd look up to. Kinda crazy. But the white girl can jump. |

When I was young...
Those were the days my friend We thought they'd never end We'd sing and dance forever and a day We'd live the life we choose We'd fight and never lose For we were young and sure to have our way. |

Mz.Rosie!!!
I love the First post you did. Being brought up in Slither Cal in the late 60s and early 70s, it was required dancing to know the Fruge, the Zombie, Mash Potato and the Twist. My mom loved those dances so we would walk to the beach and it was dance clasess for whoever wanted to join in!!! One time I was Fruging so hard on the beach with friends i actually hurt my neck!!! Of course that lead to the disco era, with us practicing more complicated moves like the Hustle, The Bump and all the Saturday Night Fever moves...Oh man....such great times!!! Then it was my Mom's turn to learn!!! I remember her bumping me into the ocean!! Funny i remember peeling my preteen friends off my mom! No Rick!!! This is NOT A slow dance man!!! Get OFF MY MOM!!! Lol! |

Lol! lol that reminds of my son. When he moved to his apartment, his friends helped him. After the move, I ordered pizza for everyone.. and of course I had some iced cold beer for them too. My sons' friends were so thankful that each one gave me a big hug before they left. One friend took a little longer hugging me and my son said "Hey! that's my mom!" I'm glad my first post brought back sweet memories of your mom. I remember the mashed potato and the twist but I don't remember what the fruge was. ![]() |
