Profile photos should be at least somewhat current. I recently ran into someone who seemed authentic but now has pictures that dont look like the same person and vary agewise... but of course are using the younger photo as their main profile picture...we all want to remain younger looking but reality is reality....Don't be afraid to be yourself!
Thanks to whoever deleted my thread. I was simply giving advice.

My photos were taken when I was 80, I look ok for my age no, it's all those face creams I use.

shocked You're 80 Joe? Damn you look good tongue2

It's the facelifts and creams, you like older men? laugh

My comment is serious and is meant to help
Others...It wasn't until like 2 weeks later that a person posted more photos that do not match up. It's just something to look for...

~ Pic has no defects (Perfect Pics). Natural people have natural inconsistencies. Hair out of place, old pimple healing, unruly facial hair, etc... While I understand that you may have prepped for 6 hours and took 12 shots to get that look I want to see what I would see if I was standing in front of you.

~ Obvious age discrepancies between profile age and image age. Sure, you look good for your age but age wears you down. If you're heading for 60 and you look like you're 30 it is obvious there is a lie being perpetuated.

~ The kids thing in the main. While I understand that your kids or grandkids are very important to you, it is you I want to get to know first. Priorities, Priorities, Priorities!

~ Barshots and Drinks in the main. So you are a party girl, big deal. Most alcoholics are really difficult to deal with and many have screwed up relationships.

~ Political statements by association. You went to a rally, big deal.

~ Proof of ownership. That bike, car, boat or whatever you have in your pic is NOT proof of anything except that you snapped a pic while you were near it.

~ Phone Mirror Selfies. If you are going to do a selfie get a camera with a timer, go take it in a better room than the bathroom.

~ Failure to crop the main. If you want people to talk to your face, make your face the focus of the image.

Pic of the guy himself in a suit with a bride next to him.
Seriously, I seen it. Prolly his daughter, but that's still a leap of faith...

Oh well, long are the days when you used to be able to show interests with pictures, since you now have to have your face clearly shown in each shot.

That is not quite correct.
Your main profile image must clearly show your face.
Your main profile image is the image seen to the left of your forum posts.
Other profile images can be other things just as long as the images are not copyrighted with the member not owning the copyrights.

That's not completely correct either. Mingle2 administration sent me an explanation that because my face wasn't clearly shown in pictures that I had with my cat and dog, that were not main profile shots either. They had deleted them because of my face not shown clearly. So it doesn't seem to matter.

Actually Photo's with Sunglasses on for a main profile pic is allowed...

If your main pic is not of you and clear it will be deleted if the one that pops up behind it as your main and it is the same issue it will be deleted till they find one that is okay..

All other photos can be of other things just not the main one.... except when regarding to the next photo that pops up if the main one is not what they want you to have up...

Not saying that mistakes can happen...
