What are you talking about???? Don't answer that. I know I won't comprehend that next one either. |

What are you talking about???? Don't answer that. I know I won't comprehend that next one either. Ask your Jewish friends. They'll understand it right away. That is if you have any-- they've probably gotten just as tired of your telling them they're going to straight to hell for not kowtowing to your personal god as I have. -Kerry O. |

your dialogue is incoherent babble to me, Kerry.
Yet, you insist on being arguementative and opinionated concerning irrelevant and distracting subject matter. There are no more answers as you don't even understand the continuity of what you're entering into. My suggestion to you to read the OP once again stands, and it is not an invitation to continue any dialog with me. It is a suggestion made in a timely manner in relevancy for your dignity then and now but you have escaped the awareness of the possibility that perhaps you have not understood the aforementioned premise. I will clarify that a bit and expect as a gentleman that you will accept this for what it is and refrain from directing further comments to me. I do not wish to be rude to you and will not. But my further silence in this Matter will be my will, not yours. Voila had directed in his OP that people with your apparent leanings were to respect the posts and stay out. What ever was to be as a result of that is inconsequential now. Explaining that to you is not going to come to you or anyone else from me at this point. It is moot. good day, sir. |

OK everyone, I'll count to three, and invite all those whom have no interest in 'bible' exclusive conversations, from a bible inerrancy perpspective to leave the site. I would also ask that uninterested parties also stay away from future post with the "...according to the bible..." certification as a header. This is official now,... 1,... 2,... and 3 ! |
|
|
|
Not only will that please the 'bible lovers', but as a bonus, it will restore the integrity of the 'religion chat' forum, by allowing those whom can carry on rich exchanges on religious topics without the obligation to agree with the gospel, to deliberate away, and learn some, and grow some. Why would that work you ask??? No sane person of 'non bible inerrancy' conviction would ever venture in the "... According to the bible..." forum. Kerry, this is an edited qoute of VOilA's that you had edited out of your initial response as though it was impertinent. I have restored and highlighted this so those viewing our little spat don't have to guess at what I'm saying. Context and substance, that is all there is to it. |

It's against the rules and.... ::::ring ring:::: Oh look, it's the clue phone. "Yes, he's here." Wouldee, it's the Spirit of the Internet for you on line one. SOI: "It's not rocket science, Wouldee. Anyone can say anything. We all know what you really think of unbelievers who won't yield. And, NO ONE CARES!!" Sheesh! -Kerry O. |

I think it stems from the millennia of time that the church has been shoving their beliefs down the throats of humanity. It's payback time! In all honestly Feral I really have absolutely nothing against individual Christians. Many of my friends and relatives are Christians and we get along just fine. If people could believe in their God without trying to force that belief on others Christianity would be great! And fortunately the vast majority of individuals who believe in Christianity don’t try to force their beliefs on others. At least not to the radical extreme. Your dear friend Voil tries so hard to point out that it’s not Christianity that’s the problem, it’s the radical extremists who are the problems. People who try to use the religion to denounce intellectual advancement and science. What do they expect us to do? Return to the dark ages? People who want to strip others of their civil rights, because their religion doesn’t condone a specific type of loving relationship, need to get a life of their own and start focusing INWARD instead of poking their noses in the affairs of others! People who are out to save the world so that some imagined God might return to earth a little quicker, are quite frankly, displaying a symptoms of a need for instant gratification. We shouldn’t be focusing our lives on the future – Take no thought of the morrow! We should be living in the now and celebrating life, not trying to rush to get it over with. Wouldn’t that be the equivalent of committing suicide just to expedite our entry into the spiritual world? We are suppose to APPRECIATE God’s creation and SAVOR it, not rush to get it over with. Que Sara Sara Relax, enjoy life, share the beauty of God’s creation and allow things to unfold as God intended them to unfold. Finally, if you genuinely feel compelled to ‘save souls’, or to rush the realization of prophecy you aren’t going to move forward very fast by denouncing science, education, free thinking, and the civil rights of those who don’t believe the same things you believe. That’s only going to drive people away, not attract them. Instead, of being on a negative mission to denounce other lifestyles and philosophies, you should consider going on a positive mission to embrace love and peace. Preach the love that Jesus taught and "save" ONE soul at a time using LOVE, they will then return the favor by doing the same. They will go out and save souls too in a loving peaceful way. A medical teacher once said to me,…. “I started out to become a nurse because I wanted to help people. But I soon realized that, as a nurse, I can only help one person at a time. So I changed my mind and decided to teach nurses. Now I am helping thousands of people through all the nurses I have taught.” The same goes for missionaries. If you want to be a missionary your goal should be to embrace those who want to be missionaries and teach them to spread the word of LOVE. Then you will reach millions of people through them. Trying to save ransom individuals by 'shoving negative thoughts down their throats’ and denouncing the status quo, is not the way to go about it. That’s only going to cause precisely what you are experiencing. For example, why do you feel a need to denounce intellectual inquiry and science? How is that going to lead to saving souls? It’s not. It’s not a good "soul-saving" tactic. Pure and simple. If I wanted to recruit missionaries I’d preach a message of love. And then teach them to do the same thing. Fortunately for me, I’m not out to recruit missionaries. I’m just out to denounce Fascism. It’s not Christianity that people fear. It’s fascism that they fear. (i.e. radical fundamentalism based on blind faith and a desire to move back to the dark ages) Love is the KEY to religion. In the meantime,... I'm shooting clay pigeons. (i.e. flying fascists) |

Wow, ABRA!!!!
That was a bunch....I get it though. The evos could be likewise guilty of fascism through their legal mandates and unfinished work that deserves more debate before it is fed to the kids, but hey, I'm splitting hairs. I don't believe religion is about love at the end of the day, either. Practical application of most principles of Christianity ARE expressed as love on any given day when we're in a good mood, though!! But all in all religion is about truuth and we can all portray that in every moment. Truth is, evo is unfinished business and confusing the kids. But hey, I'm splittilg hairs, once again. As far as force feeding the kids and neighbors goes, likewise, the kids don't have a choice and the unfinished work of evo reminds them to be incomplete in their critical thinking skills and I don't think that's what Dr. Bloom meant when he penned his treatise " Bloom's Taxonomy" which describes a coherent observation about the intellectual developmment of young human brains and its ability to reason complex concepts which seems to have propitiated a premise for the public shools to take a semester to explain the Pythagorean Theorem . No child left behind here. Just stagnant water and a lack of coherence and relativity and relevance. But hey, I'm splitting hairs again... In si far as an anti-evo dark ages upon the landscape of human endeavors goes, Why has it taken so long for someone to scribe the Origin of Species, when it's quite simply far more elementary a postulate than the Laws of Therm-dynamics which precede it in completion and complexity? But hey, I'm once again belaboring the point...I'm splitting hairs, as usual. Which brings me to a contemporary of Mr. Darwin who thought it quite unique to equally jump to conclusions about man's future and suggest a "rapture" which only serves to justify the Christian's abstinance from reaching His generation with the truth about God's Greatest gift to man and absolve him from any concern for his neighbor and flee to fantastic fancies in an escapism that smacks of putting the cart, before the proverbial horse on equal par and footing with the evos lack of intellectual honesty. What happened there? Was everyone to enamored with the Wild West and cowboys????? But once again, I'm am boring you with minor details that do no more good than split hairs. I assure you, my friend, I am equally disturbed by everything that goes on in the hearts and minds of mankind. I ,equally,am at odds....and beside myself. We share in that. That's MY point and I hope you recognize that I believe that you and I stand shoulder to shoulder in the mystifying observations we both garner. Hope I've entertained and not offended you, my friend. IRONY.....I like to throw darts, myself!!!! |

Try to give a hostile student a college education in the sciences in a couple of posts? The fossil records of the earth has clearly shown that live has increased in complexity over the past 4.5 billion years. What more proof do you need? Or are you just in denial of the evidence? If you’re in denial sweetheart there isn’t much I can do about it. Feral wrote:

Good point Abra.
I wonder myself. Much unfinished business. The fossil record seems to have a yet undiscovered burp to it. The transition is missing, yet fosillized remains of Sequoias are present here in California that are younger than the postulated transition from ape to man. When the Bible says " the earth was without form and void" the adequate translation does not exclude the possibility that another day and another dollar wasn't in the mind of God. Let's be fair. |

Not to mention the fact, that the word for 'day' is commonly regarded to include time of inconsistent boundary, in the Original Hebrew.
The allegory of that is surely not incoherent. |

I'll never believe in a God who plants erroneous evidence to lead thinking men astray Wouldee. Such a God would be playing some seriously demented games. As far as I'm concerned the evidence for evolution is iron-clad. The evidence for the age of the earth is iron-clad. The evidence for much of what science knows is iron-clad. If these conclusions are incorrect it can only be because God made the evidence appear this way. But why would God play such a nasty trick on his human pets to deceive them from truth? Such a nasty God would surely be a demon with a really sick sense of humor. I'm not sure if we stand as shoulder-to-shoulder as you think Wouldee. I don't believe that God would play such games. What would be the point to it? What does it take before a person can question a particular picture of God? Why should a Middle Eastern religion be correct and the whole rest of the world's religions be wrong? Why should we believe ancient stories over what we actually observe to be true of the cosmos? How did we end up believing in Middle Eastern religions anyway? Because we murdered all the pantheists when we came to America, that's how. Seriously, we can’t ignore history now can we? |
