Not sure "not interested" would be the right response. Trying to stress that not everyone who says hello or tries to make "cute" conversation is wanting to cuddle up with me. The point is that when a lady is sitting alone with her thoughts.. she really wants to be alone at that moment in time. I want to be very clear on this subject that when I am out at a singles dance or gathering, I truly welcome guys making conversation and being "cute" because that is the time and place for it. Like everyone else, I don't want to be lonely or ignored and being single is no treat for anyone. I take some guys on here think I am being some kind of stuck up b* word and that's not at all true.

No reason to apologize for your opinion, and how you were expressing that. Sometimes when having coffee in Starbucks. You just would like to be left alone. I understand it, but I'm also semi-anti-social when out in public. Or could be said, I have limited social skills. I just hate trying to make small talk really.

I don't have any problem with small talk or even cute back and forth flirting. But, there are times that it becomes frustrating and because I can't bring myself to be rude with anyone I have to cut my quiet time short by dreaming up excuses to not converse. I pride myself on my social skills and can quickly make friends. Most guys don't understand that as females, we always have to be so careful not to send the wrong signals.
