Topic: Obamacare Gone! | |
---|---|
I don't see them taking anything from Obama.. they killed his bill. Fact is healthcare is a business and if they do not make money ( healthcare companies) they are not going to provide that service. As is evident with them pulling out of entire areas. That was their answer to Obama. And his answer to that.... zip.. nothing As a result of obama care, the cost of my previous health insurance plan went up something like 20%. I was no longer able to afford that level of health insurance, and had to switch to a lower level of health care. thanks, obama |

Honestly they just need to repeal ACA. It was designed to fail, yet pave the way for a universal system. It forced people to buy coverage and also gave insurance companies monopolizing power in their respective states. Exactly. |

All I'll point out, is that the headline is false, and the still wildly fluctuating proposals from the Republicans seem to be upsetting as many Republicans as Democrats.
There's a long way to go before we see any actual changes. |

20 million more INSURED,,, period
no more refusal for actually NEEDING insurance...period people signing up for (and paying for) insurance because they could finally AFFORD IT why should people only have insurance based upon if they have a paycheck or not,, should housewives and students and retire go without? |

You need to see beyond your periods... A true universal healthcare can't be paid for by everyone who works s those who can't/wont. It puts to much of a burden on typical American families who can barely afford to pay their bills without the added cost... And then just to force them to pay it???... Did these people see a 300% increase in there pay? That's why the socialism you speak of can't/won't work in this country... |

several western countries say otherwise
the biggest impact of healthcare is administrative costs,, each company having their own administrative staff to handle patients and then there is the math that if there are MORE customers, there is actually reason for cost to go DOWN, just about every service industry offers GROUP costs that end up less per person,, because the larger numbers still insure their profit one universal system , would reduce costs TREMENDOUSLY and more insured (customers) would allow for lower costs no, not EVERYONE could pay, because our system is CREATED for there to be some people not working,, but that is no excuse to not do it,,the difference isnt enough to justify continuing with the system as is,,,,and the inability of SOME to pay(because of the way the economy is SET for some to not have employment, and because of aging out or under) shouldnt mean they are left with no insurance |

How many people have gained coverage as a result of the Affordable Care Act? That depends on who you ask -- and how you ask.
In 2010, the Congressional Budget Office projected that by 2016, 32 million people would have gained coverage under the Affordable Care Act. By 2012, this number was revised down to 30 million. By April 2014, the projection had fallen again, to 25 million. By March of this year, Congress's forecasters were guessing 22 million. But wait: Why would we mess around with projections? We have real numbers! Erm, yes, we have … too many numbers. We have a poll from Gallup, which suggests that the number of uninsured people has fallen from a high of 18 percent in 2013 to 11 percent today, which would give us about 22 million people. The latest data from the Centers for Disease Control suggests that the number of uninsured has declined roughly 22 million since 2013, and 17.8 million since 2010 (darn you, financial crisis!). And today we got data from the Census Bureau, which suggests that the number of uninsured people has fallen from 13.3 percent to 9.1 percent since 2013, or by about 12.8 million. There are other surveys too. But we hardly need more numbers. |

ah yes , BLOOMBERG is clever
throwing out multiple numbers confuses things but lets stick to the numbers since 2010, when ACA went into effect? 17.8 million,,,(2.2 million off from the 20 million I referenced) |

no, I like my numbers better.
Bottom line, ACA was a dismal failure. |

20 million more INSURED,,, period no more refusal for actually NEEDING insurance...period people signing up for (and paying for) insurance because they could finally AFFORD IT why should people only have insurance based upon if they have a paycheck or not,, should housewives and students and retire go without? In many regions and some entire states. It boiled down to ONE health care provider.. one.. this after the other companies pulled out. So, countless people received a letter in the mail stating on a certain date they would have NO health coverage. Forcing them to use the one remaining provider. That provider charge much more for much less coverage.. fact Deductibles skyrocketed, prescription meds and office visits deductibles too. And everyone knows that those are the most used parts of healthcare. So now people ( well documented) were paying deductibles of $5,000, $7,500, $10,000..and more( family) before the insurance ACTUALLY even kicked in. throw that on top of your now inflated monthly cost for Obama healthcare and what do you have.. and that is a good deal? What does "affordable " healthcare really mean when you can't even pay the deductible. It was a total failure. |

What does "affordable " healthcare really mean when you can't even pay the deductible. It was a total failure. what I understand is evidence and facts many regions, some states, countless people,,, are not FACTS not arguing that NOONES cost went up or that there were NO companies who could not compete giving the fact that 20 million more are insured and people that NEED insurance can no longer be denied it the ACA exchanges gave ADDITIONAL ways for people to become insured, they still also have the option to shop across the internet , go to private insurance, or use brokers or agents,,, unless that 'many, some, and countless', comes close to 20 million, it does not outweigh the success or make it a 'failure' sidenote: to help you out , on the ACA, there were 1 in 5 (NUMBERS FOLKS) EXCHANGE customers who had only one choice ON THE EXCHANGE ,, that means that 4 out of 5 had choices on the exchange,, far from FAILURE |
