Topic: Political Irony: Republican Health Care | |
---|---|
Those of us, who have read, all 2,000+ pages of crap, titled "Affordable Care Act", saw just how very little of it, has anything to do with health, or healthcare. Well, of course not. LEGISLATION about ANYTHING, isn't written to explain to you the details of what it legislates. You find ANY law, and read it through, and you wont find that the majority of it tells you about the subject of the law. You might as well point out that the First Amendment doesn't spend any time at all, telling you how to express yourself. But besides that, this thread has nothing to do with how much of a bad idea the ACA was and is. It's about how the REPUBLICANS are trying to replace it with something better. |

the ironically sad thing is the congress of the U S collected trillion (probably) since the implementation of the fica (federal insurance contribution act)(even if they say it is not insurance (YOU FEEL LIKE A NATIVE AMERICAN YET) tax there would be plenty of money their if the congress did not spend it (they charged hoffa with a crime for spending teamster health and welfare money refer to cap line) they spent it on everything instead of what it was intended for (kinda like the seat belt law you will never get a ticket for not wearing a seat belt unless you are stopped for something else and you are not wearing it and now it is CLICK IT OR TICKET)again i ask (YOU FEEL LIKE A NATIVE AMERICAN YET) we the people need to get our employees in the state house and in congress reined in and start paying attention to whats going on and not voting for people just because they are the incumbent sorry got off on a tangent lol but if they would have all that fica tax money in a separate account there would be enough money there to help buffer a widening of medicare to cover mainstream Americans by adjusting the fica tax till it was a solvent way to pay for medical coverage for all citizens but the congresses over the decades stole that buffer |

Well I think it's great that we are at least talking about it, but the much wider picture will certainly open our eyes to what is really going on around us,we actually live in a world where 1% of the population have as much wealth as the other 99%, and they offer people food Banks,Charity outlets, yet as soon as you talk about Health care for all, they throw their toys out of the pram-and start ranting on about it not being fair to the hard working people who go out to work and pay their Taxes.Well how about that 1% showing us by example, OH NO that would actually mean they would have to pay the correct amount of Tax on their wealth, which in turn would probably give everyone the Health care they deserve, and we wouldn't have this constant wrangling between normal working people making such claims as why should I pay towards the sick and vulnerable, can't you see what they are doing, and the awful truth is-it's going to get worse.if I can quote Frank Zappa.

Minor update:
Neither the Republican Party or Trump have yet produced any alternative plans for dealing with Medical costs. Despite complaining for eight years, no one actually worked on any alternatives, and despite repeatedly claiming during his campaign that he would replace the ACA with something much better that everyone would love, Trump apparently never got around to actually thinking a plan through. I'm still hoping for results, though, since I do continue to dislike the ACA. |

I'm just wonderin how those 13 million(or so) illegals here get into the system? Whose paying for them? They don't. It's a propaganda myth that they do. Really?, there is a "outreach" medical clinic in the town I used live it. Brand new, really nice place. Really big place. It is to give health care to Mexicans.. illegal Mexicans. At no charge. And no questions asked. And it always seems to be packed. And it was funded ( and it is run) using federal and state funds so who is paying for that? |

The myth is that there are multi-millions of illegals, ALL living off of the dole, and that that is the reason why there's no funds at all for Americans.
Not that it doesn't happen AT ALL. |

The myth is that there are multi-millions of illegals, ALL living off of the dole, and that that is the reason why there's no funds at all for Americans. Not that it doesn't happen AT ALL. The non myth is that we don't foot the bill for their medical.. which of course we do. Aside from the "outreach centers".. WHICHA RE OIN EVERY STSATE. Illegal aliens just have to walk into ANY hospital and they receive medical care.. so they clog up emergency rooms with non emergency type issues.. and they don't pay a dime.. we do. To the tune of over $ 2 billion and that is just what Medicare paid out alone. Many other billions were paid out thru other Government and state channels. http://khn.org/news/medicaid-illegal-immigrant-emergency-care/ I believe that charity starts at home, and I would much rather have my hard earned money that was going to be earmarked for paying for the less fortunate.. being spent on Americans... not illegals. I mean, have we run out of the less fortunate Americans?.. have we?Shouldn't we be spending our money to help THEM. Also, over 4 million children of illegal aliens were born in U.S. Hospitals. Those hospitals charged Medicaid $10,000 per birth, the maximum they could charge them by law. The illegals.. paid nothing. And who paid Medicaid?.. why.. that would be us, wouldn't it. |

Latest word from GOP World:
"Senate Republicans have not yet begun to work in earnest on a replacement plan for the Affordable Care Act, Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) said on Tuesday. It was a rare public admission of what has become obvious from the outside, as Republicans find both the politics and the substance of Obamacare repeal more difficult in practice than in rhetoric. “To be honest, there’s not any real discussion taking place right now,” Corker told reporters in the Capitol." |

I suppose really,it's what you have got used to,the UK and the US,have obviously had a different approach towards Health Care, and who should pay, obviously the influx of Refugees and illegal immigrants have been a great burden on the tax payer on both sides of the Atlantic, and there really should be something in place, where the country they are from should pay for their upkeep, but at the same time there should be something in place that stops unscrupulous Employers taking on these people and paying rock bottom wages for there work, therefore they are unable to pay for Health care, and so the system creates a situation where they are cared for by the rest of the Country, and this angers people, why oh why are Politicians so reluctant to address this, Well, as I have mentioned previously, they like the Status Quo, without which
they ere unable to pitch us all against each other, which is exactly where we are, the Wealth is ill divided, and they have got us exactly where they want us. |
