So I think it's simple that a lot of people on here are just trying to find someone worth their time, but yet it seems so much harder then it sounds. I mean sure, we all have out own expectations, and things that we want. Sure maybe some of us like taller guys or girls or some like brown hair or black hair...but in the end we are trying to see a connection and a special bond. Anywho, your probably reading this going WTF but i guess all im trying to say is...its soo much harder then it sounds. Every person deserves a chance bc who knows...maybe that person has something to offer that could make you feel wonderful inside! As they say..don't judge a book by its cover...well I have been...and no one has ever taken the time to read the chapters and then wanted to add to them...but I guess that is just my luck!!!
Anyone else feel the same way? Anyone feel like you try to hang in there to find that special someone but yet you lost all hope? Or is it just me and maybe things just aren't to be! |

My opinion (i know i have WAY too many) is that people take the whole relationship thing too seriously. Life is short and should be lived to the fullest, and taken just a little less seriously. If a relationship occurs, great, if not there is still plenty of fun to be had just meeting and haning out with new people. Don't get me wrong, everybody deep down is looking for that special someone whether or not he or she admits it. But, my point is, that sometimes if you look to hard, your eyes can play tricks on you...
Funny how our senses work. |

tiger, I think everyone feels the same way at times, just most won't admit it like driven said. You are so young, and you have your whole life ahead of you. You will find the right one if you are honest with yourself about what you need, in not only your partner but in your own heart. Your analogy about a book is dead on, it's inside that matters so don't feel bad when people don't pick up "your book" just because they don't like the cover. Those aren't the kind of people that will bring you what you (and probably all of us) are looking for. Immerse yourself in activities you truly enjoy and you'll meet that special girl when you least expect it. Take it from a lonely old lady, don't waste years waiting for somebody to make you happy. Just be happy.

Tiger these are my thoughts.
Everyone out there needs someone to love them. I believe there is a perfect match out there for everyone. On the path to finding that someone. We have hurt and heart ache. I think people need to be more patient and let love manifest from friendship. I will be the first to admit that I am not patient when a man melts my heart. But it is a lesson that I am learning and controlling. |

Please, please, please don't ever lose hope. And take this advice from someone who, in the past 2 years, has had her son's room catch on fire while he was sleeping, lost a child, and found out her now ex-husband is a child molester and is in prison. I know this isn't the case for everyone, but I got on this site expecting absolutely nothing, but after like, 3 days, someone who had just posted his profile messaged me. We talked on the IM for a while and later on in the day met up. We totally clicked. What I'm trying to say is, yeah, things go wrong in life, but when you least expect it, some one will show up...whether he/she is "the one" for a while or "the one" for life.

hang in there...if you are dissatisfied with how the romance department is going in your life, it is up to you to do something about it.
Take more chances...e-mail more women. Noone will knock on your door and say "I am the love of your life, let me in". You have to seek it and I hope you find it!! I am sorry Unique for all your pain, but I am glad things are working out for you here!! |

I really hate cliche's but when they're true, they're true...
Without the pain, how would you really know you're alive? I mean, you have to experience the down side in order to grow, and develop the up into the best that it can be... (Sorta like negative reinforcement to encourage you to get it right next time... lol) |

unfortunately for some, first impressions are very important...
you can make the cover of your book more interesting! =) just as you can add more chapters, you can change the title to something more interesting and/or more congruent with the story within, and you can add colors to the cover =) All you have to do is let go of fear; don't be afraid to say the things that really express who YOU are on the inside. That leaves the best first impression of all. Don't just be yourself, be your best self. =D |
