Who likes to decorate their house for Halloween?

I used to do that.
Now there are no trick or treaters in my neighborhood.
Not the real ones.
The 1-12 year old in store bought or homemade or piecemeal costumes that can't really pronounce or say with confidence "trick-or-treat" without parental help or urging.

I started to only get 16-25 year old kids with bad attitudes and sometimes no costume at all showing up at 10-1 at night wondering if they could take everything since no one else is coming, if I got anyone at all.

Most of my decorations (many I made myself) were stolen or busted, I gave away or threw away the rest, now if I'm home I unhook my doorbell.

I don't even buy candy anymore until it goes on sale the morning after halloween, for personal consumption.

I used to buy 3-4 big bags of candy bars and mixed treats for the kids, and I would make for myself a kind of "fall mix" of candy with the candy corn and some peanuts (sometimes some tiny sugar pumpkins for that extra diabetic kick).
But the bags of candy corn are like $3 apiece right now and I can remember buying them this decade for like $.79. It's just shaped and colored corn syrup for gods sake.

And big bags of chocolate candy approaching 10 bucks a bag?
C'mon Africa! So what if you've decimated some national park forestland, and desperately need the arable land for food crops, forget that noise, expand and grow more cocoa beans and drive that price down! The Arabs are doing it with oil. The increasingly obese and diabetic world is watching you, Ghana.

So...
Anyone on here getting dressed for a party?

I'm wearing a t-shirt and shorts and attending the private party at my house as "middle-aged-remember-when-things-were-cheaper-and-better-fck-commercial-nonroamingneighborkid-halloween-guy."

Or most likely I will dress up as "I-just-got-off-work-and-headed-to-dinner-and-whatever-with-some-friends-guy."

Whichever is on sale at the costume store.

When I was a kid I loved going out on Halloween and trick-or-treat. It was great! One year I dressed as a gypsy, another year as a scarecrow.

Then you should feel right at home on this site, because everyone here is batty.

Halloween is the best. I decorate with Lemax houses and other haunted items. We have a bake off and always dress for the party.
