Topic: Age is just a number | |

Age does matter in some ways. I am looking for a long term relationship with one man. I get contacted from guys that are around 25 years old. At some point, most of them will want kids. I don't want kids. When I'm 60 those same guys will be looking for a young woman.

Most guys my age bore me. I happen to be very adventurous and active, so it's a personal choice, not a right or wrong answer. Opinions are just that. That's why there are menus in restaurants. People like different things and nobody has a right to say what is right or wrong but that person.

Haha, I see what you are talking about Yuka.
I didn't ignore him because of his age. He happens to be very polite and talking to someone doesn't hurt anyone. |

Age is not just a number. It's an argument ppl use to support their own interest in either a lot older or a lot younger. So they use it cos it suits them. But it sure as heck is not just a number. I used to say '5 yrs either way' too, but I even question that. 5 yrs younger could match me with a man 45 yrs old, and I think the gap would be too much. Men usually are less mature than women, even at this age. No offense nor judgement btw, just fact. The one who has my interest is 4 yrs older, and I must say I like that a lot, more than I ever thought I would. His level of maturity, doubt I could find that with a younger man, even if he was just 3 yrs younger than me. |

My Grandfather was 62 when he married a 25 year old while living in the Philippines, and lived a rich, full family life with her and his new offspring until his passing last year. It is my opinion that in some cases, age isn't really what's important but compatibility is.
I tend to date younger not for social status or having a "trophy" girlfriend, but I look, feel and act younger than I am, and I find more compatibility with a younger lady within what I feel is a reasonable age difference. Too much younger, though, and I almost feel as if I'm raising another child...I guess it's the "Dad" side of me coming to the fore. I briefly dated a 26 year old, and while it was fun and we meshed very well, I quickly realized that while she felt she did love me, she was also looking for a surrogate Father and it probably IMO wouldn't have ended well. I've since put myself on a "within 10" restriction and it seems to serve me better. |
