Vision blurring
Red hot temper flares
The explosion point is fast approaching
When the first winters snow blankets the ground
'Tis the season to be jolly will be replaced
Bitter explosive anger that simmers silently
Will spill freely from my soul
Christmas carols will be sung
But my thoughts will be far from
The glistening snow
Hot chocolate after a long day of sledding
And busily buying that last gift
Instead they'll drift to a place
Where happiness is rare
Exhausted soldiers work endlessly
Dreaming of the day families embrace them
My heart will long for him
The tears will pour
Finally fed up I scream at the sky
DAMN THIS POINTLESS WAR!

Yes, we all pray for our soldiers safe return and hopefully by Christmas. My dilemma is facing the same thing kinda, is how my holidays are going to be spent as a father alone instead of being able to spend them with my girls as a family together. No Thanksgiving dinner together with them. I don't know what's going to happen Christmas, but I am still hoping and praying.
