(2 were what I refer to as ' temporary insanity. And probably shouldn't be counted. )

I was in lust, infatuated, but never fell in love.

looking back over the years I see now that I was in like/lust, far more than I was in love. after all this time there is still one name that I carry with me, so I'd have to say that was love. ☺

As with everyone, it depends on what counts as what. Including what would be termed CRUSHES by many people, I think my total is around a half dozen times. Only once in the last decade.

I'm the restrained kind, I guess.

Each time was with a different person; two were more or less disastrous, only one was a hopeless crush on a famous person (I'm not prone to delusions); one was a long distance crush.

So each one was unique to the person, and I was different by the time each occurred, so that means they were all different from each other.

I'm more careful each time.

Once and I know it was true love because it changed me and it hurt.

Once and it was like walking on the moon!

And you knew this because....

Three times and each relationship was different. All hurt like heck when the break-up came. It's been a long time since I have been in love with a man, but I am ready to fall in love again. Finding the right man is the hard part. I have a couple of men that I am messaging with but I don't think it will go any further than friendship. But I am hanging in there and hanging out in the forums and making friends here is the greatest.

54 has never looked so good!! I am enjoying my 50s but want to find that special someone to share. I am not looking to get married again (been there/done that). But I do wish to have a FOREVER BOYFRIEND. What is that you ask? You know how you feel while you are dating? Butterflies in your belly, happy when you hear their voice or text message, can't wait to see them at the end of the day, do wild & crazy things? Yeah, all the perks of not living together everyday. Something changes when you say "I do". So I want that special man in my life & we just be with each other forever, just not married. I know he is out there & wants the same thing. Where is my knight in shining armour? This Damsel is waiting on you.

20 years ago I'd say 4 or 5....today, I'd say, maybe, MAYBE ....once

If you discount crushes which kind of fool you into thinking you're in love I'd say 3 times..
18 years old and crept up on me slowly with a platonic best friend who married someone else and broke my heart
28 years old and this time it was a love/hate type of thing and though I had strong feelings for him I kind of knew deep down it was never going to last. Mainly because he was an ***hole
