Topic: Are you tired of guns ? | |
---|---|
experience, I believe , is a big factor in peoples choices
those in higher crime areas may feel a need for a gun, or those who have been in fatal danger having survived nearly half a century without the need for a gun,, is why I have no motivation to have one,,, |

The only time I wished I had a gun is when I encountered a bear. I was so close I could see the spots on his nose. arms length and he was a big brute.
You know I could never of shot him. just like I could never shoot a person. so best I didn't own a gun or rifle. in the case of the bear he would of taken it from me and used it on me! |

Guns are an asset for the people... I and my family have enjoyed target shooting and hunting our entire lives...with what is going on in the world having guns isn't a bad idea...sadly..so many people are stupid with this privilege... I hope it never reaches a point where my guns are needed for more than entertainment or great meat...but at least I could pick up just about any gun and know how to use it...next one I get..hoping for an AR15...preferably pink camouflage in color...

All I can say if you are tired of guns you might want to consider a different profession then becoming a Police Officer...
Myself I have never had a gun in the past nor the desire to have one.. But with the way this world is going forget that idea. I'm locked and loaded now... Mainly for protection due to I live alone. And plan on getting my carrying licenses as well for traveling purposes...Ohh and yes even thou I have not owned a gun in the past I have learned how to use one.. Even had a laser put on mine come after me and follow the red dot |

guns? no..... BUT...... I'm tired of the idiots that get a hold of them and do iconic level stupid schitt with them. My thoughts exactly... I own guns some for personal protection from two legged predators and a shotgun for the 4 legged kind when camping. I own rifles for hunting I am responsible for my guns and have no intentions of giving them up. |

I was in security for 14 years. In that 14 years, I had to use my gun twice. It was either them or me. And it was most certainly not going to be me. I learned a few things in that 14 years plus. I learned that when you arm the right people, the ones that want to take anything away from you, for the most part, will back down. But, If you are one of the weak ones that refuse to do anything to protect yourself, you are very happy if one of us happens to be there when the unthinkable happens to you.
I've been carrying a gun, all in all, since 1992. I don't do open carry. Open carry tends to make some people nervous. If you happen to see me, you will not see my gun. But it's there. The way the world is now, and it's not getting any better, decent people are targets for those that want to take advantage of any situation. They see me, I walk with the help of a cane. They think I'm an easy target. They could knock me down and try to take my money. They have had a bad day if they do. I don't want to hurt anyone. Much less kill them. But the fact of the matter is, in most cases, it's either you or them. Who are you going to choose? To me, it's a case of, I would rather have it and not need it. Than to need it and not have it. |

to me, its more likely someone will die if I have it than if I dont
just the presence of the gun, regardless who brings it, elevates the risk of fatality that I just dont choose in an environment where that risk is relatively low for me If I was in a different situation or environment which made me have higher likelihood of fatality, I would feel differently but my reality isnt such and when it was , it was my husband who did own a gun. |

Think about this:
In towns where everyone owns a gun mandatorily, and there are a few here in the US, and in Europe, crime plummets. There is almost no crime in those places! In towns that have banned guns, the criminals are the only ones that have them, and you?... well... you don't have any. and..... do you think a criminal cares about..........Laws? They don't, I assure you. and.........................of-course, crime has gone UP! and! and added bonus! wheeeeee!!!! guess what... YOU become the victim. never bring a kitchen knife.... to a gun fight! YOU WILL LOSE. THIS IS COMMON SENSE. yeah... so take all guns away please!!!.... because criminals will most certainly turn in every gun! and...They will totally be forth-coming and extremely honest! and another thing... they all promise to never commit anymore crimes ever! just give them everything including your wife or girlfriend to rape and kill, and..... give them your throat after you watch her die... now smile..... that's it.... see? it's easy.... now, please make it all a little harder for your neighbors to defend themselves too... this is AWESOME!... and my job as a demon has been made much easier. how-ever, a new law should exist that now....only babies should own guns... don't piss off the baby. (joking) also, the babies must learn strings of cuss words while shooting. |

let me clear things up
1st. I know of one town in america where there is mandatory ownership, that town is nelson georgia and the facts are there are less than 1500 people who live there, the law only requires head of household to have a gun, and those who are mentally or physically impaired as well as those with conscientious objections are excluded' so despite the word 'mandatory' , its far from everyone having a gun 2nd. No, criminals do not care about laws. That is why in high crime areas it makes sense to have a gun(or some type of protection). In low to no crime areas it doesn't make AS MUCH sense. When I was in a higher crime area, my husband had a gun. When I have lived in low crime areas, I have not had any gun. 3rd. I dont wish to 'take all guns' due to the very 'common sense' mentioned before. it is sensible to have a gun in a high crime area where fatality is an increased risk. It is less sensible if that is not a high risk in your community or area. its not 'common sense' for everyone to have a gun anymore than it is for noone to |

I will not comply.. |

FWIW...I keep several firearms for many reasons....protection, hunting, plinking hell, I just enjoy them as a hobby also...and I dont expect anyone to understand it if its not up their alley. |

I know gunowners who are responsible people.
I also know some angry , impulsive, aggressive people that I would not want having a weapon, let alone one that can wipe out dozens of people in under a minute or two. |

I have had guns pointed at me five times..no six..don't always count the time we were teaching my son how the home defender 12gauge operates...three were police and two were people in my life...freaky feeling facing a gun..lucky for me I haven't been shot yet...but if a cop has a gun on you...stand still, keep your hands where they can see them, follow their requests and unless they ask you a question keep your mouth shut..works 99% of the time...
