Topic: Not what you ordered. | |

Your food has arrived...
It's not what you ordered, but it looks tasty. Do you send it back...or just eat it.? |

Depends what it is .
Is it an upgrade and am I going to be charged the higher price? Does everyone else have their food? I most likely would take abit of it. Bring it to my server's attention and go from there if it is good If horrible it is being sent back... |

Like she said, might depend.
If I'm not in a rush, I'd probably point out the error. Most meals probably wouldn't be more than a $1-2 difference in price anyways, so I'd probably just eat it regardless unless they did something like coat it in mayo or salad dressing (I don't like eating those) |

I've done both. If it is obviously someone else's food (entirely different from what I ordered), I'll send it back since someone else is waiting on that.
If it's slightly different (a side dish is fruit instead of fries, which has happened to me) then I'll just go with it. A place that I used to frequent has you order at the counter and they bring your food. The cashiers are often tired and overworked and mishear orders, so I know it's supposed to be my food, just not what I intended to eat, lol. But it all works out in the end. |

They can be as much as 15$ difference. |

Not what you ordered. Your food has arrived... It's not what you ordered, but it looks tasty. Do you send it back...or just eat it.? If it was obvious on first sight that it was not what I ordered, then I would tell the waiter right away... like, if I ordered steak and I was given fish ... obvious, right? But if not that obvious like, I ordered curried brisket and the waiter gave me curried chicken... I like them both, so I would probably just enjoy it. |

Personally.. I want what I ordered that's why I ordered it in the first place..lol

If it looks better than what I ordered then I'd keep it lol
I would also mention it to the waiter/ waitress in case there's some sort of discount |

Everytime I ordered, I like the breast part of the chicken. But when it arrived, they gave me the wrong part.
I just smiled, and saying that's okay. I'll take it. |

it depends if it's something I can eat or not.
I'm mildly allergic to shellfish. if it has just a little bit, I'll be ok. if there are larger quantities I might have to ask for my original order |

point out the error, but dig in.... Americans waste far too much food. they need to stop.
if they aren't allergic or vegetarian, and it's meat.... I take home the meat and give it to a friend. |

If it's something new that I have never tried I would maybe take a bite to see if I like it and go from there. Otherwise I usually want what I ordered and would bring it to the servers attention.
