A generalization is a statement held true for a majority of a given aggregate so its true in general but for any one person, may not apply. For example the generalization that most women on this dating site are obese is true given over 70 percent are obese but any one woman may not be, yet the generalization is true but not applicable to any one person. The usual way to see this is in the statement all generalizations are false including this one... So age is just a number but for most it represents an average for a given group but not for any specific member. One is expected to evaluate on the specific person and not fall prey to ignorant generalizations or alleged shortcuts to wisdom (astrology and numerology both have widespread appeal without any scientific basis) just peoples desire for shortcuts to help sort through difficult issues....

VERY OFTEN EACH DECADE OF LIFE HAS THERE LEVEL OF MATURITY.....FOR EXAMPLE ,A 20 SOMETHING CAN NOT SEE THE CONSEQUENCES OF THERE ACTIONS EVEN THOUGH IT APPEARS TO THEM THAT THEY HAVE THE ANSWERS.....

Tell them their "bone density" couldn't handle the trauma...

Age is just a number, if, and only if, there is a mutual consent coming from the older and younger parties.
Its becoming a trend and no one can really judge. Maybe it is really true that all is fair in love and in war

there's a certain look people get as they get older

crinkles around the eyes
skin starts to sag
hair turns gray or falls out..
even body hair might be turning gray

now ya might find someone older that keeps themselves in good shape
and he might be a skinny guy..but as he ages he is gonna
get that pancake flat behind
and his skin will get that certain look that old people get

but compared to a twenty year old? they have lost muscle mass and bone density

there is not turning back time..reflexes and stamina are going to slow

Age doesn't matter in my opinion. My boyfriend is 20 years older than me. He's that type of man I see myself growing old with. He makes me happy, makes time for me, listens and understands. He's honest and trustworthy.

To me, one year on Earth is just what it should imply. The Earth makes its full rotation around the sun, and it takes a year to do that. Age is not, nor should it EVER be measured like that. Our bodies age in different ways. Smoke, and do drugs daily, and you'll age much faster. Be fit, eat healthy, etc., and you'll age slower. It's just that simple.

A year is one trip around the sun. It doesn't mean you "age" a year. Keep that in mind, all of you. =)

Yes it is....older, younger...whatever...if you can mentally and emotionally meet somewhere in between the two, why not see if love has a chance....
Sure there are many cases of either person seeking such a relationship for financial gain or using the younger for pleasure only....
But there are also many, many age gap relationships that are being forged with love and devotion as their basis...

This is a modern world....
Here in the west if your fit, healthy and in your 50s, with the state of health and future medical advances there should be no reason...barring accidents, that you could easily live into your 90s...
This gives a new relationship up to and over 40 odd years of togetherness...

As for the older guy taking advantage of the younger woman....sometimes...yes...but...
Just because they are younger don't think that they are immature or easily influenced. Many younger girls are very strong and mature and have experienced a lot quite young and are now looking for someone that can provide maturity and life experience....
Same goes for the younger guy and older woman relationship...the serious ones....are seeking the same....

The most successful age gap relationships don’t focus on the aspect of aging....

Having been in several age gap relationship over the years I guess the best advice I can give is, remember who counts most to you, your partner or the rest of the world....
Who makes you happy and feel good....
Who supports you and is there in bad as well as good....
