I think in any relationship, it does happen to have a comfortable silence sometimes wherein you are physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally aware, just simply knowing that you are there for each other. It's a comforting feeling of being together in that moment, no talks needed, just a look in each other's eyes, a simple touch, a pat on your shoulder, a soft caress on your cheek/arms or caressing his/her hair as you lay your head on his lap or while sitting beside each other watching tv or cuddling in the bed or sofa, or watching a beautiful view or sunset. Those peaceful and heart warming silence shared is a moment of getting connected , no words spoken for you can both feel love is in the air.

I agree, comfortable silences are OK, it's those stony silences that are a worry, so I usually say nothing. |

I totally agree. Silence is golden.....does shutting of my hearing aid during a heated conversation, count as comfortable silence....because it does for me....lol...But seriously, I have experienced those moments, with quite a few people and not only the ones I care about....comfortable silence moment and then suddenly turn to each other, and at the same instant I blurt out "sex" and she's "no"....dang, are we finely tuned to each other or what??
