It's a 500 watt portable construction lamp. I'm glad I didn't go outside after plugging it in. It would have burnt the house down.

I've gone camping in the winter before. -32 c was the coldest I've ever spent a night outdoors. That was in my truck on the side of the highway in Montana. Interstate was closed. I didn't like that very much.

i really enjoy camping in the snow. keeps the wusses away. but the washing up gets a little chilly. i've gone without a tent in freezing weather. fabulous. but that was in my youth. still have that bag though and my north face 4 season dome
