Since we are international here, I wonder to what extent domestic barriers are toppled down for the sake of true romance, or folks just submit to the chains of convenience at the expense of feeling alive...

I have dated a West Indian Londoner, and an Irishman, in fact I married the Irishman, so I have no qualms dating other nationalities.

I have issue dating differences in commonalities though.

Ok, first off, there was no distance issues, I met them here.

Culturally we had similar outlooks, and similar belief structures, so they were commonalities.

For instance, a deeply religious person would have nothing in common with me, politically, my belief structures are conflicting to the 'norm', so that would be a challenge.

etc, etc, etc, I guess if I was to be labelled, which I dislike intensely, some would see me as unconventional.

So, Jess, that makes the two of us... being labelled as unconventional that's the story of my life... still it guarantees no similarity between the uncoventional ones, but at least acceptance of the wide diversity of human nature... I've never understood people's passion for homogeneity and uniformity of culture, persuasions, religion and so on...

Let my one neighbour be whatever, a Muslim-Budhist-Christian kind of believer, and my other neighbour be a Christian-Budhist-Muslim kind of other believer, what's the big deal... most humans seem to vote for boredom, and clon themselves in the shape of their neighbours...
