I spent a lot of money before I left my country, to start a Visa. After I came here I was told I had to start allover again, and I did. I already paid at least a couple thousand of dollars to get my son and myself legal. I dont mind having to drive and then wait a few hours and spend money on gas getting there, just to be fingerprinted again and get a new card. But why on earth do I have to pay $300 each for my son and myself? That is the part that upsets me most. I know it's "just money", I could just pay it and get it over with. But first you have to have it. And I guess it kinda gets to me, thinking that if I can't get the money, we might face deportation. After everyhting we went through and having a built a life here.

What kind of work do you do?

If your here legally, I would help you what I could. I believe most everyone would do the same. I would say the money, $600, is to process the paperwork, you know wages and such.

Now let me ask, Do you think it is fair to just grant amnesty to the est. 12-24 million that just walked in? After you are doing it, granted hard, but the the legal way?

I know virtually nothing about the process but I tend to agree with Fanta that it has something to do with the cost of processing the requests. It's a shame that you have had all this trouble with the process. It can be discouraging for those wanting to do things the right way.

I'm not a cruel person in any way, I do get angry on occasion. Which I have to appologize since my anger is talking a lot here. But I would never expect or find it acceptable for a person having to suffer in any way.

I'm the type of person to put myself out there to keep someone from getting hurt. I usually care about every person around me (with just a few exceptions).

I work 40 hours a week in sales, working my way up to management. Trying to make a living for my kids and myself.

But $300 is a bit out there. I know it's the INS. I should be used to their prices and they're only going up too.

Seriously, Drivers License $20 and the police department, I'm sure, will gladly fingerprint someone to get them into the system for free. I know different process and all. But why make it so difficult and expensive?

It shouldnt be free. Even my family who came here 100's of years ago and "stole America from the Natives" (I really prefer conqured) had to pay something.

They faced hunger, cold, nature, and yes, wild Indians!! Many paid with their life, and again in many wars they died. It has never been free or "cheap" to be a citizen and wear the name "American!"

Keep trying someone will help! If I had the $600 Id give it to you just for doing it the legal way!!

I wouldnt worry then. There are many walking around with fake IDs and criminal backgrounds!

And would even cross the ocean and half the country by foot, boat or any means.

I have a Columbian friend who went in and took the test, passed it and was denied. They told her she was a month, 1 month early and had to pay and retake the test again.
They could have advised her of that. She also, could have double checked and asked friends to read it over for her.
Short version, she's done and is now a Citizen.

Floh, I paid all that money for you and your son...not you...then you took everything I worked for, cheated on me, and claimed that you were so mistreated....i am now your babysitter so you can go party.. stop playing like you are so grown up and inocent.
