Actually I cherish my past and the lessons I learned. Without them I wouldn't be the person I am today. Have I made mistakes lots of them and hopefully I have learned from it Do I need to drag out all the past relationships Not really nor do I hide them if asked. |

just till 2 years ago, i was someone living in past all the time. i would get stuck in past very often, dig the memories, photos... keep things..
then i realised it is not helping any, plus the time is running, life is going on. and it really is going, catch it !! now i do not even turn back to look at yesterday. whatever has past is past. that's it. |

The more horrible stuff that happened to me, I think isn't worth thinking about. It wouldn't be healthy in the long term. I have noticed, that when I break up with someone, I will go back to playing favourite music albums from my teenage years, because they are less likely to remind me of my current life. I keep the radio on the exact same station, as it's the only one that plays songs from the good old days. When you go through something quite bad, it's good to forget and go back to the past. My teenage years are the only true comfort I have.

"The further back you can look, the further forward you are likely to see" Winston Churchill
Just don't dwell on the negative. Feeling sorry for yourself is a one way slide to the bottom. Count your blessings, there are a lot of people worse off than you are. |

..soooo.. is it best to leave your past in the past.? Or do you need to dig it out.. like removing a photo album from a old steamer trunk .. to take a look at it from time to time.. do you think revisiting your past is healthy.. To know where you come from is to know where you are going...oui.. Or are you the type of person that never dwells on the past.. . Is talking about past relationships good in a new relationship..? . Or are some things best left in the past...?.. I can never forget my past, it's already a part me, it made me who I am today. My experiences from the past had taught me a lot of lessons and it gave me wisdom and how to be a better person. I do walk down memory lane from time to time. Yes, I agree with you....to know where you come from is to know where you are going...... we have too look back from our past in order to appreciate where we are today and prepare us to a more meaningful journey ahead of us. I don't dwell on the negative things in my past but I would rather like to remember the positive things because it inspire me and gives me hope that something wonderful still awaits me in the future Talking about past relationship is not bad at all. There are things better left unsaid but if it is necessary to open up and share the learnings from the past is a healthy conversation for a new relationship to flourish with all honesty and sincerity |

past is past.. :) * Don't tell what you did yesterday. * Don't tell what you will do tomorrow. * Tell me what you did today! |

I think it can be bad, when a famous person, is creating a autobiography, because everything they wish to forget is suddenly brought up again. Especially really painful stuff. I'm surprised they're alright after re-living that stuff. Or sometimes a therapist goes through your past with you, and you suddenly remember.

For me I learn from it so I don't have to repeat the lessons.
I think it's important to forgive but not forget. This has helped me to grow into who I am today. |

Some parts of your past are easier to leave in the past than others. Some parts can wreak havoc on your present...an your future.
