one of my major gripes is profile pictures, specifically women, as i don't tend to look at men's profiles that often,

but what's with the gym pics? you go to the gym? big deal, so do i, is it supposed to be impressive or attractive?

"look at me i can climb hills and hike and i walk and cycle aren't i the supreme outdoor junkie type", we all go outdoors and do things, you're not special!

i have kids/pets and want everyone to see them, no we don't, we want to see you!

oh and pictures off you with other men aren't attractive either.

things that they write like
"curled up on the sofa"- who actually curls up on a sofa?
"got my own house, car, teeth etc etc"
"i have XX amazing kids" aren't every parents' kids "Amazing"?
"home maker" =WTF??

oh and this duck face, pouting crap, give it a rest girls, it's not big, clever and certainly not attractive!

so you would say no to seeing my earlobe?

Not my cup of tea either, but I don't find it strange when they showcase their pets, kids, day at the gym etc. They are just showing you the parts of their life that they value, and alluding to the reality than anyone who is in their life would have to be embracing of those realities. Clearly you are not so those pics aren't for you

i should have made it clearer, i meant kids/pets/cartoon characters as profile pics
and yes i agree they are part of their lives but can't they just write in in their profile?

A picture is worth a thousand words lolol . I don't like those types of profile shots either to be honest

In fact i'm pretty grumpy when it comes to profiles, i can find something to annoy me in most of them, including my own! :)

Be nice to see some profiles that just tell more basic info and let me determine if they are funny, great guy, honest ect.

I am looking for someone who has similar lifestyle and interests.

The generic answers like music, being outdoors, sports , contractor, engineer, IT tell me nothing. Except trying to pry and answer out of someone is going to be more like pulling teeth and why bother when others will. Kind of self elimination.

Like the profiles that there is not even a hint of a smile or being pleasant to be around. Am I going to go on a date with someone who scowls and keep his head in a book or phone? Not likely.

I often see profiles that list the person from one location and then in the profile they say that they are from a totally different location. It sends up the "SCAMMER ALERT" sign to me!

I don't think people realise how quickly and often they get eliminated by others just on the basis of sloppy profile pics and profile content. You don't have to be stunning or brilliant to produce an impressive profile. All you need is some time and effort.

Men who feel like they have to list every city they’ve ever moved to. You don’t need to put that in your profile.

People really do that?

Maybe they think that standing next to the other people will make them look sexier by comparison?

I volunteer on another site sometimes to listen to other people's gripes and send them to the right place to get their gripe resolved.

The #1 thing I hear the most is, "Why do people go through the trouble of joining a dating site, filling out profile info, and then not talk to anyone?" "I will never pay again to be ignored."

Maybe many people who sign on here , aren't really that serious about meeting someone special. Maybe its just something they do to kill time when their mate is not around.

i don't get that either, surely you want people to see you and read about you and be intrigued about things enough to want to know more?

or maybe they aren't who they say they are etc
