just be careful T especially for those of us who have been out of circulation for quite awhile..

middle aged ones tend to ask questions like
" have you had a vasectomy" or " can ya still get pregnant"

or " is the ex still involved in your life"

I was reading something awhile back that stated that many people coming out of a marriage may actually have an STD and not even know it because they have very mild or no symptoms at all


and that most STD checks are checking for the big three: Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis and sometimes HPV which can be found by the swab test method
but HIV and Herpes involves blood work

I actually didn't think you could check for Herpes, you can only tell if it's active. It's not a problem nor contagious either unless it's active.
The BIG bummer is, that it's already contagious BEFORE any sores show up... so when you get this slightly tingly feeling, it's contagious, yet nothing to be seen...

So in that sense it's a real tricky one, as you have to rely on the other to be A) honest about it and B) aware that they are having this tingly feeling.

It's a real shite thing, as you can also infect yourself from your mouth to your genitals, your eyes etc. so even you yourself have to be really really careful when you got a cold sore. For instance with towels and wash clothes etc. or self-pleasuring, if you've touched your mouth and not washed your hands. And we all touch our face/mouth a gazillion times a day without even thinking about it...

And not being stupid enough to kiss someone when you know a cold sore is coming up, and then have oral sex, cos your own virus stuck to their lips can infect your own genitals.

Getting genital herpes scares the bejesus out of me, cos for women it's a nightmare, worse than for men.

the thing with Herpes is that you can have it for years and not ever know it
you can be asymptomatic as in NO symptoms

no tingling, no sores

but yet at some point in your life you were exposed to the virus
and if tested you would test positive for having the antibodies
for either type 1 or type 2


and you are contagious even if you are not having an outbreak

why? because the virus can lay dormant in your body
but a few times a year you will go thru what is referred to as
' viral shedding' and the virus will travel to surface of your skin
and during this time period you will be extremely contagious
is it as bad as those who have outbreaks? no but it is estimated that you are still contagious about 10 to 20 percent of year whenever this viral shedding occurs. There are drugs for Herpes that suppress the outbreaks but there is no cure

As if there weren't enough other reasons not to eat at restaurants! It's amazing I ate at all when I was on the road!

That's one of those things you try not to think about when the waiter/waitress comes to the table. The others you can usually see or have a good idea about from seeing other things.

Sometimes....saying that she just found out she's pregnant usually sends guys running out the door!
