Topic: Getting no response | |

I can think of about 25 reasons I don't respond and 25 reasons why I would. Do people really want to know why? I wonder? |

I did wonder if I was too much for them but then I remembered I have settings set. So I don't get over loaded. Have a great day. |

The "no response, how rude" line never encourages me to make an effort!

mmmmmm think it's gotten to point now where they would almost have to prove to me that they are not lying That's terrible that it has to come to not believe anyone...even though I do completely understand. |

mmmmmm think it's gotten to point now where they would almost have to prove to me that they are not lying I'm past the "innocent until proven guilty" altogether I hope I don't get that cynical but yea if what they say sounds like a bucket of bull I don't even bother to be nice. Skip them. They will fall out of your mail eventually. I expect people to appear normal. If they look too gorgeous, want to pretend they are in some exotic job, their kids are perfect, they have never screwed up, and they are all that and a bag of chips and listening to them whine, blame everyone else, or like I have to pry a conversation out of them like a bad tooth they don't want to admit having why bother. The "next" button is a split second. I am not sure why everyone is so stuck on why are there so many scammers because if you look on your match list and actually ask a question or two respond it is glaringly obvious. How many times do you walk down the street and see some model type begging for a date? Be realistic and this dating thing is not that hard. I think I get more than my fair share of mail and I would say 99% of it is not a great profile or great looks but I do smile and that is less intimidating. |

This is an interesting topic for me, since it refers to what is probably my biggest gripe against this site - I take the time to read what the ladies write in their profiles, & write a nice (hopefully fun) email that proves that I paid attention to what they wrote, and...
Crickets. You can keep going after the first few get no response, but when that's what happens 99% of the time, it's difficult to maintain ANY degree of enthusiasm for the pursuit - and in all honesty, I don't even bother any more. If I wanted THAT kind of fun, I'd send out resumΓ©s - it's the same idiotic game. These days, I just hang around the forums for laughs. |

I had been away for a while. So right now, I am still in nice mode. If someone took the time to email me, I will reply even if just to say "Sorry, I think I'm a tad too old for you."

I respond to every message sent to me, but then again I only get one or two every other day so it's not hard to keep up with them.

I respond to every message sent to me, but then again I only get one or two every other day so it's not hard to keep up with them. I also respond to every email. One every 3 to 4 weeks is not a problem. But when you tell them good luck with your continued search and they continue to write drivel, you start to second guess your decision to answer every email. |
